WPBA and TAR Team Up For Live Stream

Hi Scott,

That is a good idea, and I will pass it on to the production committee. Of course I can't promise anything, but I would definitely think that we'd take your voices into consideration.

Stay tuned. The draw will be completed Wednesday evening, and we will be posting the schedule at www.wpba.com after that.

Thank you!

Melissa

Perhaps we could send in requests now for what players we would prefer be shown on the TV table when possible?

I think there are many players that are more exciting to watch, so right or wrong that's who I want to watch.

ex. Sarah Rousey has a good following on the AZ forums, and maybe some young upcoming players.

Anyway just a thought what does everyone else think? Either way I'm excited to be able to watch, TAR has done a great thing again!

One vote for Sarah Rousey on the TV table.

Since we have all seen our fair share of players like, Alison Fisher, Jeanette Lee, Karen Corr, Vivian Villarreal, Jasmine Ouschan ...

Players I would like to see on TV Table.

Sarah Rousey
Line Kjorsvik
Iris Ranola
Michelle Rakin
Liz Ford

or any of the Canadians in the field, I would love to promote the feed to my Canadian audiance at www.shooterville.com. Would be really great if I could tell people that there will be a couple of Canadians featured and to get the feed for both days!

Thanks,

8 racks completed by the 45-minute mark is the usual criteria. However, the tournament director may put a clock on any match at any time if he thinks it is necessary.

I am glad someone mentioned this. I think having a shot clock for these streamed matches is a good idea...and I will suggest it to the production committee. Thank you.

Melissa

I agree, also best of luck to you. Regards Eric.:)

one thing is certain as with anything the first time is the time to learn and take notes-as mistakes will be made, I'm going to watch and see how it all comes together, for sure it will be good no matter what.

I agree that putting the players we see on ESPN for the last 8 years on TAR would be a bit of the same old thing, the flip side is they are known and are proven to draw big audences, so the answere migh lie in the middle somewhere and have as many different players as possible.

No matter what this joint venture cant harm the WPBA, TAR or pool in any way. We need all the help and audiences we can get, it will feed on itself at some point,,,,I hope. I certainly encourage both the WPBA and TAR to work out any differences that might come up with this first effort as making compermises will be beneficial to ALL involved in time.

sincerly

Agreed somewhere in the middle is best, the WPBA has a great product in their talented players, they should of course be showcased. They have also been shown the most becasue they have earned their way into the later televised rounds. I just think it would be nice to have a look at the future of the game.

In my opinion the background stories are also important for the new players, including how they got there ...

Anyway maybe just me rambling but I thing the people and the characters in the game are just as interesting to people as the actual play.

I'm very optimistic of this joint venture!

Should be fun. I will probably purchase the coverage to see how it goes. WPBA fans should be treated to the real deal and not the ESPN light version.

Another good move on TAR and the WPBA's part!

What is the light version?

I imagine they will wait until after the draw Wed. before you can purchase the PPV. Johnnyt

Do any of the women match up like SVB and the Lion or any of the green room matches?

I dont think so. Many girls do play for the cash, but I think the WPBA has a "no gambling" clause during tour stops.

The link to purchase will go up tomorrow.

I will probably doing some testing on Wednesday night for free on Ustream. Not sure what it will be. Maybe some of the pro-am maybe me saying "Check....Check....Check..." for an hour. :D

If it looks like we can get some interviews or pro-am action in I will post it here.

Sounds great. If TAR wasn't doing this I wouldn't buy it the first time. I've been burned to many times with other streaming...and it cost me more too. Thank you WPBA&TAR for putting this on. I hope it goes over really big. Johnnyt

We are very proud to team up with the WPBA to provide the first ever LIVE stream of of one of their events. We will be streaming live Pay Per View coverage from the 2008 WPBA Tour Championships at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, FL. November 13-14.

The stream will consist of the two days leading up to the ESPN taping of the final rounds. The matches will be chosen on site by the WPBA. My understanding is that they will be looking for exciting match ups to stream on the feature table. Since it is a tournament it is impossible to schedule to far in advance what will be shown. I have faith that there will be some excellent matches to watch.

The price of the coverage will be as follows:

$30 for both Thursday and Friday
$20 for Friday only

The links to purchase the coverage will be on www.wpba.com early next week.

You will not be able to purchase the Friday only coverage until early Friday morning.

There is a PPV FAQ section on the WPBA home page for those who have questions about how to purchase and view the stream.

The WPBA will be providing commentators and interviewers during the broadcast. Fans will be able to interact with the commentators and guests through the live chat function of the viewer.

The schedule and format will be driven by the tournament schedule and other factors on site. We will do our best to let everyone know what is going on and what is coming up.

The match time schedule for both days is as follows:

10:00 am
11:45 am
1:30 pm
3:15 pm
Dinner Break
6:30 pm
8:15 pm
10:00 pm

There will be 14 live matches over two days. Right now there are still some questions as to what will fill the space during the dinner break. I am thinking it will end up being interviews and question and answer sessions in the chat.

If anyone has any questions about the coverage or how to view it please post them up and I will do my best to answer them.

I think is going to be a great event and a chance to see the WPBA in brand new way. These are the full races not the TV race to 7. Everyone at TAR is proud to be a part of this and we look forward to an exciting couple of days.

Won't be buying this one cause I will be seeing it LIVE- I live about 2 miles from the hard rock:thumbup: Look forward to finally meeting you guys.
