I think she will do very good! ;)

When reading through her achievements once more I can't help thinking of what her high run in 14-1 could have been if she could keep on shooting in the European Championship last year.

In the semifinal she ran 75 and out, and stopped. Then in the next match, the final, few minutes later, she foul on her opening shot and get -1, her opponent rans 30+ and then Jasmin ran 76 and out, and of course stopped the run.

She was obviously in "dead stroke/the zone" those few hours, and who knows how many balls she would have made if she hadn't stopped in both those matches...

Apparently, some of the seeds must have changed from that list provided, because one of the first round matches is Hopkins vs. Ashton, and both were in the list of seeds. Same with Melissa Morris (she was supposed to be seeded 30, but has Allison in the first round). Tracie Hines is not on the list, but is seeded. Same with Val Finnie.

Where to start...

Her achievements from 2005-2008:

Youth Worldchampion

Winner of World Games

9th, Quarterfinalist + 2 times semifinalist in the World Championship for women (Who else of the women have 2 medals in the last 3 years at the WC?)
GY Kim 2006 Champion, 2008 Runner-up
That's my answer

To be honest from TV of 2008 Amway, Ouschan played at the same level as Kim, just different styles.

Bring it home to Austin!

Best of luck to Heather and Belinda. We are proud of you.;)

I know the 6 matches that started at 10am.PST are over by now. Would be nice to see the resuslts in the brackets on WPBA site. Maybe their waiting for the 11:30 am round to be over and report it all at once. Johnnyt

I bet there will be a ton of sweaters watching the Line Kjoervik vs J. Lee match at 6pm pst. Line got beat by Lee(by 1 game i believe) at the Amway Cup that just finished up last week. This lady can play. She has won three (3) qualifiers in a row for the WPBA Tour. Johnnyt

Hi All,

Allow me to explain the new seedings....and to clear up some confusion.

The seedings for the first event of the year, which is Viejas, are based on the 2007 year-end rankings (which are comprised of a 10-tournament rolling average).

However, effective the 2nd tournament....the seedings will be determined using a 4-tournament rolling system instead. This will still reward players for past performance....but it will also allow for a more exciting points race and force everyone to strive for peak performance throughout the year.

The seedings that were posted on wpba.com were based on a 4-tournament cycle....so they were incorrect for the Viejas event. Our apologies for any confusion. We seeded our players for the San Diego Classic according to the year-end rankings.

Thank you all for following along and showing interest in the WPBA! Please check out the new easier-to-read tournament brackets on wpba.com. They now have match times and scores posted.

And if anyone is interested....I won my first match 9-0!!!

My best to all,

Melissa

She can definitely play. She made 82 in straight pool just a couple of weeks ago, and she texted me earlier this week and said that she feels real good.

I really hope she will do well in this tournament.

She's a great player to watch in action, she seems to always find a way to win games even if she's struggling.

I am crossing my fingers for her tonight. Now I am off to bed, but hope that when I wake up I can log on here and find some good news :)

Hi All,

Just wanted to point out that we have new and improved brackets up at www.wpba.com. They are continuously updated...and they have the match times and match scores now. There are also tournament highlights posted...more pictures from the event than ever!

The WPBA would like to thank Anne Craig, our new office administrator, for her hard work and tireless effort here at the event.

Enjoy!!!! (And I won my 2nd match, too...9-5 against Tiffany Nelson)
