WPC 2007-live internet coverage dates & times

come on ESPN. switch to the Boyes vs Gomez match. You cheated us of 1 match already. That match was supposed to be held AFTER this, not at the same time.

I agree. I turned the Peach vs. Foldes match off. I couldn't stand watching it anymore. Most boring pool, lacking excitement, misses, out-of-line shots. And then to add insult to injury, with the soft-break format, it's like, as the saying goes, feed the monkey and watch him sh*t.

NBC is keeping us up to date with the Gomez match, so I'm tuned in here.

Although JAM isnt interested... Peach now up 8 - 2.

Gomez on the other hand... does another hard break and gets a nice open shot on the 1. All balls are scattered and no issues on the table.

Gets the long shot on the 1 into the upper right corner... has a nice 15 degree cut shot on the 2. Gets it.

Open, cut shot on the 4. Django just arrived and is now watching the Gomez , Boyes match. Django looks like he has recovered from the loss and is giving some people a small shrug.

Gomez does a nice stun shot on the 7 into the center pocket... now is straight in for the 8 and shoots that with draw. Now has a 50/50 shot on the 9... but makes it look easy.

Score is now tied at 4 each.

BTW, everybody give NBC some green rep. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't get the latest scores.

Thanks, NBC. I gave you green rep and hope everybody else does the same.

Mine never fully buffers either, but eventually it will come on. It takes a minute or two.

Sometimes the number on the bottom right of the SOPCAST screen never goes past 50, but I can still see the picture, with broken audio.

nbc,

are you saying that Boyes is better at pockeing balls but is not good at positioning? How about Gomez? Is his hard break working as well as his soft break?

I find this talk of American pool going backwards very depressing. And they say European pool will take off. I never saw 9 ball played in England, only 8 ball. Here you see all forms of pool played, with many more players.

If an Englishman does win the title it will probably make the national news there but I doubt it'll make pool popular there. Now, if that happened here I doubt it'd make the news at all, which is a shame when you see how many players there are that take an interest in all aspects of the game. I'm not saying it'd suddenly make pool the number one game but it sure wouldn't hurt!

Gomez does another hard break... shoots the 1 into the side pocket. Balls are scattered... no blocking balls.

Shoots the 2 ball into the upper right corner pocket... now has a shot on the 3 but he plays safety instead because of the rather tough cut which he decided not to take.

The cue ball is stuck to the 8 ball... the 3 bounced off the other long rail and goes back to the same rail where the 8 and cue ball are located.

Boyes does a 1 rail kick shot on the 3. Almost banks in the 3. Now leaves Gomez an open shot on the 3 ball. Gomez shoots it and gets a rather tough cut on the 4. Gets the 4 but now gets another tough cut on the 5. Gomez is having difficulty getting his line...

Gets the 5! Goes 3 rails and now still has a 50/50 shot on his next ball, the 7.

Whew!!! Gets the 7 and now has another 45 degree cut on the 8. WOW!!! He is in stroke! He gets the 8 and is now straight in for the 9 in the lower right corner.

He shoots it in!!! Gomez now leading, 5 -4.

That is my impression.

He shoots the balls in rather well... but, the cue ball always seems to find a way to make his next shot harder than it has to be.

Wow, Peach is playing amazing. Putting on a real clinic here, up 9-2 now.

I agree the pace is slow, but as long as the calibre of play is this high, I don't mind it at all. It's hard not to respect what Peach is doing out there in the WPC semi-finals.

What a mistake ESPN Sports made by not putting on the Gomez match on TV.

It is obviously a much better caliber of play and more watchable for a TV audience.

GO GOMEZ!

JAM

Thanks for the green rep, JAM.

Gomez power breaks again... almost gets the 9 ball into the side pocket.

Wow... Gomez just does a very, very difficult shot on the 5 ball. Cuts it in form almost a 70 degree angle... into the corner pocket with the 5 ball being 3 diamonds away.

3 balls on the table left... the 7, 8 and 9.

BTW, Mr. Clean is on the hill...
