SVB would definitely be the favorite but he will have his hands full on Gabica.
I got a feeling it will go down the wire, or I could be wrong though...

Will they ever take Earl off the TV table and give SVB some much deserved coverage? I understand the Filipino slanted TV coverage, but this is a blatant oversight.

Shane will get plenty long after Earl is out of the tournament. Calm down Earl fans, I'm just stating what's likely to happen. Besides, we either get to watch Earl play very impressive pool or look and act like a buffoon (1 slip glove, 1 grip glove, arm bandage, and wrist support???)

Hopefully SVB takes this thing off so they give him a little respect next time. To give you an idea how much effort they've put into SVB, here's his player page:

http://www.worldpoolchampionship.com/players_detail.asp?player_id=2205

Every player gets a personal page with their photo, personal information, past finishes,...,etc. His page is blank...except for the "Highlight In The Last 12 Months:" being "Qualifying for the 2007 World Pool Championship". Those US Open and World 10B wins are hardly worth mentioning.

BTW, they still list Earl as a cuetec user...and they mispelled Mike Sigel's name on Efren's page.

OK, I'll get off the soapbox now. Sorry 'bout that.

Shut up! I love watching train wrecks and nuclear meltdowns! :D

LOL...
He looks rediculous doesn't he.....:D

Earl was a great champion for a long time, but I think now he may need some Prozac...

I bet if he got his mind right, he could play great pool again......

Whatever drug he might need to get his mind right (if, indeed, he does need a drug to do it), I hope he does it soon. He may still have several years of great pool left in him. He isn't that old. I don't know about all the gadgets he has all over him though. He played his best pool when he just had a cue in his [ungloved] hands.

I know Alain (the "Dancing Bear") can put racks together...I've seen it. It was more painful to Jon Kucharo who had to endure the torture first hand as his opponent.

The exact details have become murky after all these years but it was in Milwaukee (the year Earl forfeited to Corey in the finals) and Jon was up something like 4-0 (questionable memory) and came up dry on a break. Alain got up and ran that rack...and another...and another...until he had run the entire set!

Can anyone fill in the gaps?

Thanks for the post - one correction. Joven Bustamante is Phillipines.

Does anybody know who the qualifiers are who made it this far? You sure have to give them credit if they did.
