All,

In the market for a tip tool. I'm looking for some suggestions, here, too.

The cues I own (for the most part) have layered tips. Emerald and Everest, to be specific. I love the tips, and want to keep 'em...but would like to have a tool that properly scuffs and shapes them...without ripping layers off in the process.

Hit me up. I be in need.

I have been quite happy using Williard's Cue Tip Shapers. It keeps my tip at an exact nickel and doesn't remove much if I use it lightly to remove glazing. I don't need to use it every time I play. It does not seem like I am sanding down the tip to any real extent. If I do, I'll replace the tip. My tips are lasting for more than a year with no signs of wearing down.

I use an "Ultimate Tip Tool" too. Have for a long time. I also carry a Tip Pik.

Mark,

That Kamui Gator tip tool works really, really well. It is a real fine "grit". The teeth do an excellent job of lightly roughing up the surface of the tip without grinding the tip down and eating it up quickly. You can see the video for "how to use it" at the link below. I don't have any of them, but Koinnkid usually does, or you can pick one up from Ebay or the Kamui store in the link below...it is about the only tip tool that I use anymore.

That's the kind of thing I'm after, sir. I remember you had one (or two) awhile back...and should have got one then. I could not, for the life of me, recall what they were. Thanks for reminding me!

I don't care for the Ultimate Tip Tool much. I've had two, and both grit disks came unglued from the metal. I wasn't really impressed.

ANYBODY GOT A KAMUI GATOR TIP TOOL FOR SALE?????

Agreed....especially on any harder tips. Break cue holds chalk like never before with this.

i would not use ANY tool that u have to twist or rotate to shape. this can cause tip to tear and loosen layers. best thing is a sanding board like the curved ones u see in the kits. i bought a silver one that is imbeded with particiles . works great and if your carefull you can trim the sides to fix any mushrooming..

Kamui

I'd love to try the kamui also
Anyone have one for sale
Pm price and paypal info
Thanks

I use the sandman to shape and a kamui gator grip to scuff and you need a price of leather if you don't have one you can buy one for about 2-3 dollars or you could go to a leather shop and ask for scraps
