Who wants a $1000.00? Im looking for a nice scruggs, Josswest, Paul Mottey or James White. I like around a 19oz cue and shafts no smaller than 12.5mm. Also 5/16 14 joint. Lets see whats out there and who wants a $1000.00

Thanks
Heidi

no love for Espiritu

I have a few Espiritu cues that are very good looking and playing in your range.
sorry to offer something yo didn't specifically ask for but you might get more bang for you buck with an Espiritu.

No offence Heidi but I think what you are asking for is a tall order. Finding a cue from the makers you mentioned for that price seems nearly impossible although I have to admit I think most of it is overvalued. I say that not because I think they make bad product. Actually the makers you mention make some awsome cues. I just think that the prices for their stuff has been over inflated in recent years.

This is kind of a pet peeve of mine. I mean really, $2K for a 4 point Scruggs with a few inlays? I recently saw a 4 point Hercek for over $5K!!!! Yeah, ok. Put the crack pipe down....... Lol.

Cue for $1000.00

I seen quite a few cue such as scruggs, josswest, motteys and whites close to that price range on here.

Here a couple

Koinnkid has 2 nice Josswest $1000 - $1500 range
Torquit has a nice Tim Scruggs Hoppe in that range and
Tailorrmode has a 4point 4 veneer Scruggs in that range.

My apologies, I stand corrected I guess. I haven't seen anything in that range personally unless they were PJ.

I still think the pricing of some cues is way out of hand. :p

I would...

Get me a Davis blank, ($350ish last time I talked to him) and have someone convert it for me. Dave Sutton had a really nice conversion posted here in the $1000.00 range (click here) would be an amazing playing cue with lots of nostalgia and you could get exactly the wood and veneer combination that you want. There are many cue makers out there to handle something like this. (I happen to like Dave's style)

thanks for the kind words

i have to agree. you will not find a mottey scruggs or white in that range unless its a sneeky or no points. the scruggs is not a bad cue. a new one would sell for around 1800.+/- for some reason his older cues dont do great on the market. notice at 1200 its still there.
jim is one of the hottest makers today.
tim is getting up there
paul is retired.

looks like the josswest is the cue for you. i actually inquired about that cue last week. i think its the nuts.

Nice 6 point all long Capone with 2 shafts. Custom wood Joint protectors also included. $1000 shipped.

1972-1980 JW EBONY POINTS 1-5 shafts

How about a very nice Bill Stroud JossWest 72-80 with the sideways W with between 1-5 shafts, 3 are 13 mm and 2 are 12 mm. Cue is like new, 5/16-14 with stainless steel joint, rock solid. Ebony points. About 19 oz. Will get exact weight tomorrow. I think the butt is 15.7 oz. and 28 1/2 " length.

We can negotiate which shafts you want for $1,000.00 plus shipping and insurance. Also, the cue is 57" with original shafts, newer shafts are 29". Several of the shafts are ivory ferrules, one is the old Micarta.

The new wrap is the Cortland white with black specs which you can't buy any more unless you know the right people. (<:

CUE BEFORE CORTLAND WRAP REPLACED

I verified this cue is Mr. Stroud's work though emails with Dan Janes and Bill Stroud about 2 years ago.
