Nice job @DeadStick. I didn't check your ball positions super carefully. On my video it has the overhead camera and the lines drawn on the table, if you wanted to adjust at all. When I started the thread I just used my iPhone, I didn't have the overhead camera on.

It's interesting that Virtual pool also shows the parallax of the the lines on the cloth accurately (they don't line up with the diamonds). My camera also is a wide angle lens, so it makes the lines different distances apart.

Probably won’t go back and adjust this time. An overhead view always makes it easier to reproduce a layout.

I would never, ever play safe in that situation - not with that easily makable 4 ball, and the difficulty of the safe (it requires a firm stroke with stun-follow to the rail, so pretty tough to get the CB up against the rail). And here is the result of the "nearly perfect" speed safe:

agreed. if going safe i make the 4 and play an easier safe off the 5

I think the CB will hook hard off the 4 and get behind the 8. I'm half thinking of cross banking the 4 to send the CB to the other end of the table, hopefully not getting stuck behind the 6/7.

Play "Efren" pool! Hit it nice and easy, as described in photo #4. Just play that semi soft bank on the four cross corner and let your cue ball glide up table for the five.

If you happen to miss the bank then you've probably played a good safety. What you have here is a two way shot, unless you are a high 700 shooter who can overpower the table.

As Buddy Hall liked to say "Take what the table gives you!"
 
Since this is a “WWYD” post, I would play top right as described and land right on the 5, but rattle the 4-ball and leave is as a corner pocket hanger.

The first photo is the starting point. The 2nd is where the 4 ball ended up close to the 5 ball. When I shot this the 4 ball hit the 3rd rail about 6 inches below the side pocket, then hit the short rail and ended up above the 5 ball.
The cue ball moved a few inches forward and stopped by the other short rail. The 6 7and 8 blocking balls are not in the photo.

I thought this was a safe shot. Did you try it?

That's a good result.

It would be so hard to pass up the runout attempt
 
I just tried right follow on a fairly sticky table and while I could get to the bottom rail, the cue ball came in long every time. If you move the cb-4 more parallel to the end rail where your stick is over the first diamond you can come in short enough.
 
With the OP's cue ball, being very dirty, this limits his ability to squirt the cue ball + it won't create maximum cue ball spin action.
The shooter has to be ''leveled out with a closed bridge on the rail'' this allows the cue ball to move forward quickly.
