WWYD 9-ball...

Since it looks like I can see the bottom right side of the cb, I would draw it back to near the bottom side pocket and play safe off the 2.

High left to take the CB along the top long rail and 2 in the bottom corner.

Good luck with that with the amount of top you have to use. Odds are the cb will hit the short rail, come back off it, and die before it gets to the side pocket.

Get cueball into the open, use the 6 and 9 as blockers playing distance safe on 2....many ways to get into the open using the rail and the 1.

That would have to be one hell of a draw shot. It looks like the you wouldn't be able to get above the 4. I could be wrong though.

Rail first into the 1 and hopefully land next to the bottom pocket closest to the 2 ball and then play safe.

The one is sitting in the jaws. Don't even need to use the rail, just draw it back.

I would try this, and call push out on the same shot if I had that option.

This is a horrible situation for the player at the table.

I'm with Kris on this one. What makes this situation difficult is being jacked up over the 9 ball.

I might slow roll a rail-first shot on the 1 hitting the one ball with right english, leaving the cue ball with an opening to the 2 ball (near the other rail and the 7). Then a safety on the 2 ball by hitting it left side with left English (the 2 stops against the 8) bringing the cue ball three rails back behind the 4/3.

That would work. Speed control is tough because it's not easy to judge how full you're going to hit the 1 and you have a small landing zone for the cue ball. Good shot!

This isn't the first shot after the break so you cannot push. But if you could, where would you push out to?

2 rail the 7 towards the 3&4 ,,rack is going to be won after a safety battle no matter what.
unless someone does something very low percentage or their name is efren

I like this. Depending on who I'm playing, I might call a push and make the 1, expecting to get the shot back and then playing a slight variant of the safety you diagrammed.
