Scott Frost of the Phoenix Fire is at the table against Minnesota Outlaws and has this layout. Frost has the white pockets and on purple and the Outlaws are black pockets and are on orange. What would you do here? :)

I didn't click to see what he did yet, but I will after I post.

I'd try to softly spin-cut that purple (sitting on the 3rd diamond up the right rail), sending the CB down behind the two purples and the orange by the bottom left pocket.

(Maybe the first ever to respond to a BB WWYD) :)

I tried to watch BB, but I ended up listening to the TAR podcast instead.

Maybe I haven't given it enough of a chance, is it still free next week?

I lag down on the purple ball near the end rail banking it up about two diamonds but leaving it near my pocket and freeze the other guy on the bottom of the orange ball. At a minimum I have him doubled up shooting back at the upper corner. I just buy myself a little time and wait for another chance.

Ok, after watching some of this I realize I have a profound lack of understanding of this game. lol

Bank the purple, hit the other purple, and then roll over near the other purple.
yes numbers would make things easier for questions like this

I would sweep up the nine balls on the table and get six more from a box of regular balls. I would rack the fifteen balls in a triangle at the foot of the table (the end of the table nearest us) and explain to my opponent that he got all the balls that went in the black pocket nearest the rack and that I got all the balls that went in the white pocket nearest the rack. I would explain to him that whoever got eight balls in his pocket first would win and that we would begin by flipping a coin to see which of us got the first break. (After that we would alternate breaks.) Then I would ask him if he would care to wager on each game.

Then you would break and run and bore the fans to death and wonder why the game you love does not get any tv coverage and is dying a long slow painful death!:wink:

forget about the game entirely and go back to the already widely excepted games of billiards. that we know people will watch. yeah cool its a new billiards game but there have been so many issues about being able to watch it. id forget about it all together. if i haven't already

I'd forgotten this part of the run where he rearranged all the furniture. So at first glance I honestly thought "he'll just cut in the purple nearest the bottom left pocket". It's a total sellout but spinning in that ball is the shot he's kind of known for, playing aggressive 1p. Of course in 1p, coming close is a small consolation whereas it's just a plain old miss in other games.

I do like seeing these guys apply some 1p ball moving strategy to this game.

I remember reading a while back where Nathan said something like "azbilliards isn't the WPBL's target market". I find it funny they feel the need to push their game on this forum though. Strange.

Karate Kick, unscrew.

How @ slow roll the CB into the bottom left purple - hitting it a tad on the right side - such that the purple barely rebounds off the bottom rail and blocks the nearby orange. The other purple just above it would block the hanger on the upper right corner. = no shot for incomer.

I would go to bed, I tried my hardest to try to watch and get excited about the game, but it for me, I can't get excited about this game..and also in my opinion, the 2 girls cheapen the match also....Give us real live good Pool. I wish Bonus Ball success, but I just can't bring myself to watch it, even it being free didn't change my opinion, sorry guys, I'm not bashing the Game, I'm just saying that this game isn't for me. I was hoping this would be the game that put Pool on Stage, but what it is now, is just boring to me.--I will be watching the TAR Matches all weekend,....This is Real Players and Real Pool !!!!!

I felt that way at first, but now that I understand the game better I think there's a lot it has to offer. It's really not like any other game, but has elements of several mixed into what seems like a pretty tough game. I hate to admit it, but it's a lot more interesting to watch than I suspected it would be.

Still hate the name, though. My wife always watches pool with me (Yes, Jay H., we'll be watching SVB and Dennis O. this weekend lol), even though she hardly ever plays. Heck, after watching the Accu-Stats "Make It Happen" one-pocket event, she even likes one-hole now. But she steadfastly refused to watch any Bonus Ball because of the hokey name.

I promised her they were gonna rename it "American 3-pocket" (don't know if that's really true or not) and she perked right up and watched this match until past her bedtime. She likes it. If it's a spectator sport for the non-playing masses, I think you might have a hit. But PLEASE listen to the prospective railbirds and reconsider the name. It just plain sucks.

They're not pushing it, they're giving us heretics a chance to recant. Just like during the Inquisition, only nobody's being stretched out on the rack. Personally, I saw the glass of Kool-Aid sitting there, I dared to take a sip, and I liked it.

To each his own, I guess, but I don't see the point in folks jumping in with negativity on every BB thread (or throwing digs in on other unrelated threads). It's finally happening, as promised. Let's see how it goes and try not to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
