Craig-
You and I have never had a problem so understand that what I'm about to say here is NOT meant as an attack towards you.
Hi Brian,
I don't take it as an attack on me. No worries there.

Look, yourself, Eric Draven, Cajunbarboxplayer, and a few others may love Kevin and his cues, but for you guys to continually insist that the rest of us are being too hard on Kevin is foolish. The man painted himself into a corner. I understand he has had a lot of hard times fall upon him lately. But as a businessman who has customers waitng, it is his JOB to inform them that circumstances have kept him out of the shop. He does NOT have to be specific. But he does have to be honest and communicative.
Nowhere have I said you are being hard on him. I don't continually post about it or insist anything. I did post that he admitted he fell behind and why, he admitted he owed people their cues. He also stated that he was working on getting those fulfilled. It's all posted in the forum.
So I simply stated that the lynching will go on whether or not he posts on an hourly basis to update the next pass or next finish coat. So why would he come to these threads and get into a never ending argument, especially when a new thread pops up weekly?
He knows he owes the product and stated so.
He knows people are antsy and stated so.
He's working to fulfill the orders he said he would, regardless of past mistakes and missed dates - and stated so.
So again why come on here everytime someone says your pm box is full to say the same thing: "I know I'm behind" "I'm working on your cues." Not that anyone would believe him anyhow because of the missed dates.
Getting the cues out and delivering what he said he would will go much further than Kevin coming on here daily and defending himself. Wouldn't you agree?
Let me ask this: If you admitted you made errors and were trying to correct the problem, would you want to address it in every other post? Or would you want to get back to completing what you said you would.
I also agree that people should have been be updated on their cues given the threads of late and I have told Kevin my opinion on that.

The man made promises that he didn't keep. But on top of it, he didn't offer an explanation. He didn't offer any updates. Instead, after several threads were started asking questions and eventually turning into accusations and attacks (not uncommon when questions go unanswered), he came onto AZ and thanked his loyalists while getting kinda defensive towards all others who suspected wrongdoing. He was wrong. There is no two ways about it. No matter how loyal you may be to Kevin, you have to come to that realization eventually.
Eric and Cajun likely never will. They will ride that horse of theirs into the ground. But surely you can see why this is happening. Kevin did this to himself. He could have avoided this by being a little more in touch with people who's money he gladly accepted up front.

Well, you are right that things eventually turn into accusations and attacks when questions go unanswered. We see it here. If I had any doubt that there was any intent to take peoples money and run, I'd think otherwise. The fact of the matter is, I know this not to be true. But, there is nothing I can say that will change anyone's perception of this. You and I have discussed people's right to their opinions at various times on this board. This is no different. I am simply trying to offer another point of view.
Another question: Knowing that you've posted the circumstances that no-one believes (they have been posted numerous times), and knowing you aren't out to steal anyone's money, would you be defensive toward someone that accused you of that? Again, he's already posted that he fell way behind, etc.
Could Kevin be more communicative? Sure. I've told him that. When I helped relay messages when his pc was down, I was inundated with pms. I was constantly clearing out the messages. That was about 10 days worth of traffic until he got his pc working again. I can only imagine how quickly his pm box fills. People panic when his pms are full. Can he take time to answer peoples questions? Sure. It's been pointed out many times here.
I agree being in touch with customers is a good thing and could have avoided many posts. In part, he did do that with a post a while ago. Could there be more communication 1 on 1? Sure, I said that above. There are also some that have no orders and are fueling the fires in these threads so to speak.
My opinion is that he's not out to steal anything from anyone. Many others in these threads think otherwise. My opinion also it that when he fell behind, some people got tired of waiting (just as you are about an order you have placed).
Kevin is my friend. Knowing my friend is not out to scam anyone is ok for me, but does little to console anyone else that thinks otherwise. If (a big if) I am wrong, I'll gladly admit it, but I'd like to think I know him a little better than most on here. When I don't agree with him, I tell him so and vice versa. That's part of what friends do.
Have a good day Brian.
