Well I got my cue in the mail just the other day from Richard Hsu of www.rjhcustomcues.com/ . I wanted to personalize this cue and make it mine, I wanted the big ivory windows to have a design in it and after seeing the work done on Angel Paglia's cue done by Rich I knew he was the go to guy. I thought about putting a white wrap on this cue or adding inlays to the points but I love the wrap and the points are really nice too so this was the best move in my opinion and maybe in a few years if I get bored I can add something to the points. Here are some before and after pics of my Jerry -R- along with a picture of Angel's cue which was made by Rich.

Question

Why do people lay nice cues on stones or concrete to take pictures?

I have a nice sheet or towel you can use or have for picture backgrounds.

Haha, Kevin, I get that all the time I show the pics, there is actually small pieces of little rubber I use that I put under the wrap portion of the cue that elevates it slightly so the stones do not touch it. I usually lay my cues on the carpet but wanted to do an outdoor shoot and this was a nice back drop I thought to really showcase the cue. lately I have just been using my counter top for pics and it does not look as good as the pics with the stone. :smile:
 
Rich did an excellent job on your cue. I might even bug him to something similar to a cue I have that seems to need that little something extra now that I've seen what he did to yours. It really pulls that thing together and looks like that's how it was supposed to be from the beginning. I've never been a big fan of ivory windows like that without some scrimshaw or other contrasting inlay into them. Unless there's a lot of other detail in the cue to offset the somewhat blank space of the ivory windows or there's a lot and I mean a lot of grain definition to them they just look like unfinished areas to me.

Thanks, he did a great job and that something that was missing is now there which makes me very happy. :smile:
 
Hey Lenny,

That really came out nice, man! It's amazing how just a little adjustment can make such a difference... I like the way he did Angel's, too. The big ovals needed that little extra oomph, as well.

Thanks Steve, I think it really has made both of the cues by doing this and others who feel something is missing should look at this work and consider it. I have gotten many compliments from people in the room who think it was the finishing touches on the cue. The cool thing is if I get bored I can add something next to the points, that could be a couple months or years depending ,haha. :o
 
Very, very nice Lenny, Any significance/meaning to the design you chose (derived from a family crest maybe?) or was it just that (a design)? I will say, whether a cue, DVD, or a stream, when you do something you do it right!

I checked out some designs and felt this one would best suit the cue so I got it. I am glad I did, it came out great. I am trying to get back into streaming, almost did it tonight but decided to just play instead. I am looking to make the move to HD but I probably would have to part with this cue to make it happen. :frown:
