Over a year has passed since the last IPT event. I was just wondering what most of you believe will happen with the IPT - will it revive itself - or - will it just drift away into obscurity?

It is no secret about how I feel about this subject, so I will keep my opinion out of it, I was just wondering how people currently view this venture a year later. Have your views changed, or are they still the same?

For the IPT Players - what do you think we could all learn from this situation when building a new tour?

I have been one of the critics of the IPT here on the forum. And I believed it was all over.

After a long talk with Deno the other day, I think there will be more events. They are still sending checks, and Deno still has a job. The marketing staff is still going after sponsors.

Once the players are paid off, I think you will see a revised IPT with a new business plan.

It is unfortunate that so many people turned a blind eye to KTs past and his overall character to have big dreams of him making them rich.
The IPT was a good concept, and it was good while it lasted money wise...... but until we have someone with some moral fiber opening up a large checkbook for the game, this will not be the last of the raw deals in pool.
Pool needs major corporate sponsorship and a new format for competitions to succeed.First things first though.... it needs to clean up its act, and lose the sleazy patina it seems to have.
I really believe pool could have success similar to poker, but the marketing isnt there. And the many reasons its not there yet are too numerous to list.

To answer one poster about the interest in the ipt, there are so many threads and posts in the main forum that I can only read about one third of the material and even without making one single post myself, it still consumes quite a bit of time. This is my first time in anything except the main page in a looooong time. As far as the ipt, I would say that I feel the same way that Blackjack does. He expresses himself more fully and much better than I, but I find myself feeling just as he seems to.....
