I read the book and I do like it a lot. It provides a very clear introduction with excellent illustrations. What I like most about it, is the methodical approach. Even without knowing, you could have guessed that the author is an engineer. In some parts the book looks a little like a science textbook. This style may not suit everybody, but it definitely suits me.

I have read it and watched the DVDs. It's a lot of good solid information for the money.
One thing I like about it better than most other basic instruction books is that it's backed up by free video examples that compliment the book. So you can always go to the website and look up the videos.
I didn't find it to be so much of a strategy book as much as something like the 99 Critical Shots or Bob Henning's series. But for good solid information then it's pretty much a must have on any pool enthusiast's shelf.
David Alciatore has another series out called the Virtual Encyclopedia of Pool Shots which covers some aspects in a lot more depth. I hope to get a copy of that for review some time next year if the economy picks up and we start adding new products again.

I like this book, and I really like the video series the Video Encyclopedia of Pool Shots ("VEPS") starring Dr. Dave and Tom Ross (who recently suffered a stroke).
This book has imprortant information on the physics of the behavior of the cue ball. This doesn't substitute for practice, but at least you can understand better the results you are seeing and make adjustments faster.

The paper was of great quality which made the figures and pictures even greater. This book is made better than any other pool instruction book I have ever seen. If there are others out there that are better, I would like to have the list.
Videos are good, just small. I would like them bigger without losing quality.

FYI, about a month ago, I sent a complete set of the Video Encyclopedia of Pool Shots (VEPS) to Matt Carter at Sterling Gaming. I'm surprised Sterling hasn't picked up VEPS yet. I'm sure Sterling could do well with sales if they did. Maybe you can help set them straight. You should also ask Matt to borrow the DVDs so you can watch the full set. I'd be curious to hear what you think after you view them.

I sure hope Tom Ross recovers completely from his recent stroke, because we had been talking about working together again on some new videos. Our collaborative chemistry was great with the VEPS project, and I hope we can experience that again in the future.

Hello Dave. Thanks for the link and to answer your question, yes, I found the book very much worth the money. I recommend it to everyone.
