Hi dear cuemakers :-)
i m curious about the material Yuma. Is it also usuable for a joint? I saw a cue with Yuma-Inlays and used for a Hoppe-Ring. It looks beautiful and now i m asking myself how expensive it is (belonging to other materials) and if it would be possible to use this material also for a joint.

About a year ago I switched ferrule material. JUMA is the only ferrule material that I use now. I am making a cue with JUMA ferrules, joint, inlays, points & butt cap. It seems to perform & look great...JER
 
I use Juma quite often.
I use it for ferrules, joints and buttcaps.
Very strong material and takes finish well.
You should have no problems with it.

I just made a cue and used it for joint material seems decent enough but it gets dirty easily i sealed it with super glue before the final sand to the dark wood dust wouldnt get deep into the pores it helped alot.

Hi,

I have been using Juma and for joint collars, butt caps and Hoppe rings ect. I love it because it cleans up very nicely when you lightly sand it before sealing with epoxy. It looks great under the finish. I have had problems in the past with other white rod and tube material becoming cross contaminated during the final tapering pass. On the other white materials, once a dirt speck get in there, you have a big problem with the final

As for Juma for ferrules, I like it and it plays good. My only knock is it does not polish out to a shinny finish.

3:10 to juma... My favorite movie. I used it. It's ok. It machines soft which was a turn off too me. Maybe I'll revisit it later. Who knows

I don't remember Johnny Yuma but I do have fond memories of Roy, Dale, trigger and Gene Autry.
And of course, Dave Juma, fastest cuemaker in the east.
