Zero-X Billiards response to allegations made by Max Eberle, Jimmy Reid and others.

What ever resulted from this situation? Mr. Reids latest post on another thread mentioned the Lowry brothers and it seems he still believes they ripped him off. Tor's response here is very clear and to the point.

What was the end result? Did Mr. Eberle ever respond?

"Max Eberle reports via a third party that I created several phony emails and "stole" money from Jimmy's PayPal account. Max, if this is true, why are you or others not going to the authorities? Why waste time on a pool forum? Obviously that is a crime to steal money from a PayPal account so please go to the nearest authorities and report it if Jimmy is such a close friend of yours"

Based on Tor's reply above, it appears that he called their bluff, and they all folded like a cheap card table. I mean, Tor comes right out and says, if I committed a crime, report me... and then nothing from the "pack" spouting off about it. So, one can assume, they were lying about or believing other's lies about it, since they never reported it to the authorities, and have since shut up about it.

Your so right RJ

I traveled and planned on doing my Perfect Aim lessons with Tors 14 days before my car accident.
I got to know him pretty good. He's one of those guys that would give you the shirt off his back.
After working with 3 of his students he wanted to learn this for his own game. I was going to show him for free and he demanded that I get paid for it.
Tor is not a crook by no means and is one of the bright spots in pool right now.
After I recoup from my injuries I hope he will let me travel to his areas and teach a little Perfect Aim to his 14 days students.
One of the nicest guys I've ever been associated with. Tor Lowry and his crew........

I was right there with you until...
If I knew how to link to the prior threads I would.
A "high end" website designer that knows what "threads" and "links" are, and knows that he wants to include one, but just can't quite seem to figure out how to make it happen?

On a more serious note, I don't think that the "techniques" and "systems" for playing any sport are subject to copyright laws, so there would have to be clear evidence that your instructional materials were deliberately plagiarized for anyone to make any serious claim. There are only so many ways to go about bumping a ball around the table with a stick, so there is bound to be a lot of overlap in the instructional materials.

The only real problem here was a few players knew that tor posting free videos would lighten their pockets a little.

sounds about right to me. I bought his DVD's, and one of them did not work right. After I sent an email, it was responded to immediately, and I got the new DVD in 48 hours :)

FWIW, one of my DVD didn't work either and after I sent him an email, I got not just the replacement but also a whole new set of the same series: "You may keep the second or pay it forward to another pool lover by giving it to them!"

Zero-X Billiards

I met Tor around 20 years ago. I considered him a very good shortstop (just under a world class player) at that time. He was an exceptional nice guy back then. As I recall he used a 11 MM shaft back then when everybody else was using 12.75 MM and up in my area.

I don't think Tor would cheat anybody back then or now - its just not in him.

Thanks for the quality youtube videos Tor. Nobody else out there seems to provide as much free instructional content as you do.

I guess i could go on Mr.Eberle's youtube channel and watch him run out a couple of racks of 10 ball without saying a word, but that's not instruction, it's just showing off.

Zero x

I just caught this thread today skimming the new posts. I then we to u tube and watched Thor and the Zero x videos. Next, I proceeded to order the complete set of DVD's. I have been buying VHS,DVD etc on pool as long as I can remember. I have some from names mentioned, not Jimmy Reid.

These Zero X videos are outstanding, to the point easy to understand and graphically illustrate the point so it can be quickly comprehended. I will study them over and over. There are only so many ways to do the right thing. Look at golf videos or principals of Tennis. The fundamentals are the same but the principals of execution differ and distinguish the better teachers. I think Zero x is outstanding and quickly to the point in a very understandable manner.

Just because the accusers didn't turn detective and put the case together for the po-po doesn't mean it isn't true-** I have no knowledge that it is true**.

Jimmy's paypal business was administered by Tor and it came up short. It is Jimmy's allegation that only Tor had the password. Take that fwiw.

tto me, the appearance of an impropriety is there, at a minimum. It is certainly possible that a wrongdoer could be so cocksure as to flaunt his claim of innocence in the face of any challengers.

To me Tor is doing a great service for pool,,,going around the country and giving lessons for 14 days to people he dont even know,,,traveling can get very old quik,,,and he isnt even charging for this,,,,,well let,s see how many of the one,s named here or anywhere eles is doing something or even close to this...What i,ve seen of his videos, they are very easy to understand, simple and most of all they work.......keep the good work up my friend and dont let the critcs get to ya,,,,if u get thur va anytime ur always welcome at my house,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I often become disenchanted with the media when completely erroneous information is printed. I don't mind reading people's opinions, even when they may politely disagree; however, I believe it demeans the whole pool community when a person attempts to perpetuate a rumor. I recognize clearly how much it negatively impacts the very pool community so many claim they desire to improve.

In this case, it is absolutely untrue that Tor Lowry "administered Jimmy Reid's PayPal business." Saying, "take that for what it's worth," does not remove the liability one accepts for libel/slander, etc., when they make completely untrue allegations, meant to damage the reputation of another party. The manner in which Tor Lowry handled these allegations was straightforward, honest and classy.

As for myself, I prefer to focus on all the positive, uplifting things happening in the pool community. I've enjoyed reading some interesting and informative discussions lately on the forum. Mark Wilson's appointment as the Captain of Mosconi Cup 2014 - Team USA, Lindenwood University's recent great achievements, Mike Dechaine's humbling letter, news about upcoming new and exciting events, how various people are doing in their leagues, educational discussions from which many of us learn and some wonderful ways in which others are raising money for great charity causes. These discussions serve to make the forum more vibrant, and overall, just a better place to be. I am also very touched when fellow AZ Billiards forum members reach out to those in need of prayer. I could genuinely use some prayers myself.

I want to publicly express my appreciation for the forum members whom have been consistently supportive and positive for the pool community, offering a great deal to the forum, to people who truly are seeking to get better in their own games and to the image of pool. Gene Albrecht is a truly great person doing many wonderful things for pool. Even when people are unkind, he does not "stoop" to a different level. He remains confident and positive about what he offers. I've seen him in action, working with multiple players, and I've seen the positive impact 'Perfect Aim' has made for them. Mark Wilson is remarkable in so many ways. I truly have no words to describe how refreshing it is to witness him doing great such things in the pool community and I've heard some great comments from people who are so excited for Mosconi Cup 2014 and many great things we're sure are yet to come from him. I love the photography of J.P. Parmentier. I love the enthusiasm shown by many league players working to improve their game. There are far too many people to list, but their positive contributions are truly appreciated by many pool enthusiasts.

My forum friends (you know who you are), I'm so grateful for your support and friendship. Though I'm far less communicative, please know I'm often thinking of you, and that I'll never forget how you were there for me during a long and difficult journey. Please know, I'm here for you too, for anything.

I'm grateful for people like "OnePocketJohn" on here. He's definitely a person who cares about the game and remains positive, never saying unkind words to anybody. Thank you to "fathomblue." You're an extremely articulate, genuine and honest person who is truly passionate about pool. I'm happy to have stayed on the forum. I've met some truly remarkable people as a result and have learned a great deal. Joe and Terry, I feel indebted to you. I know your friendship has been genuine and I'll never forget your kindness. It's amazing how different things seem when people as you both are take the time to lift and encourage others. To have been one of the beneficiaries of your kindness is a tremendous blessing.

I'm not up on this Internet Burglary stuff but it seems as tho, if a person could redirect ones Pay Pal funds into your own bank Account, it would make for an easy Paper Trail.

There were many accusatory statements made against Tor, much 3rd party hear say, but when asked for proof, the only proof given was going off on another tangent that didn't quite make sense. Or less sense than the first accusations.

It was either there or it wasn't. Apparently it wasn't.

If I remember, the brunt of the accusations came not from proof of any missing Pay Pal funds as much as Jimmy's sales seemed to be down from usual.

So his Sales were down one month, someone must have been stealing from him.

As far as I'm concerned, that was a serious Slap in the face for Tor and we missed out on a contributing member on AZ.

The others only show up when they have something to sell.

I spent a lot of time talking with Tor during this fiasco and all I know is that Tor was nothing but forth right with myself and there was absolutely nothing that would convince me of any wrong doing.

He is either the worlds best Master Thespian and Internet Criminal or he is just a nice guy that was trying to do someone a favor.

I'm going with the Just the Nice Guy part. And ya know, this hasn't soured Tor against helping others.

He just moved on but I do know that it did hurt him considerably.

I know that deep down, Jimmy is a great guy and was/is going thru some serious personal health issues. Hard to keep your head straight when this type of thing is going down.

For the other 3rd party hear sayers, I have not much respect left and will never forget this issue myself.

Today I Prayed for both Jimmy and Freddy. Jimmy will be in surgery and I Hope for a great outcome. He is a Fighter thats fer sure.

As I recall, jimmy stated that tor controlled the PayPal account that Jimmy's business used. I am not going to be digging up the thread.

I think MyImmortal seeks to drown readers with logorrhea.

Thanks Pam. I truly enjoyed Tor's company and instruction during his time here in St. Louis. I also have all of Jimmy Reid's material and enjoyed all of his work.

Have fun and take care Pam. :-)

Thats actually pretty low, what ever it was supposed to mean. A joke possibly.

If you had half an idea of who Pam is and what she has gone thru for Tor, despite life threatening health problems herself, you probably wouldn't have mentioned her name.

I just finished up the 14 Day Experiment with Tor from April 15th-28th.

I had several occasions to spend time alone with Tor to discuss pool, films, life in general, his background, my background, etc. I finally asked Tor.....point-blank.....about the burning issue that permeates thru this thread and others. I came away with the solid conclusion that he attempted to clean up the mess of a PRIOR webmaster. I tend to have a pretty good eye/ear for dishonesty and my Spidey-sense never even tingled at the slightest.

Tor Lowry is simply the most honest, genuine, selfless, down-to-Earth person that I've met outside of my parents. I truly feel that if I asked him for the shirt off of his back, he'd hand it to me.

I will continue to positively grow as a player and human being because of the time/knowledge he shared with me and my friends. I'm holding up my end of the bargain by paying it forward to anyone that wants help with their game. That's all he ever asked of us. To practice. Become a dedicated player. Pass the knowledge on to others. Make pool a stronger sport for us all, one person at a time.

MyImmortal, I'm not sure who you are, but I graciously accept your compliment. Any time you want to share the table, just let me know when we're in the same area. Thank you.
