Taking the Pocket Out of Aiming

Here's a little-known visualization technique using the fact that the line connecting the CB-OB contact points always crosses the CB-OB center-to-center line at its midpoint. Despite its geometric validity I don't know of anybody who uses it - you could be the first.

Carbide tipped cutting tool for tip replacement or REPLACEABLE STEEL BLADE??

Carbide grades, angles and geometry is whole field in itself. So asking if carbide is sharper than a utility blade really depends on the insert type and geometry. I use a SCLCR 1212 turning tool with CCGT 060202 inserts, these have the smallest radius tip, so it's the sharpest inserts, they are meant for finishing aluminum, plastics etc. I use these to turn the tip down to within a few thou of the ferrule and I do the very last pass with a fresh utility blade. Results are pretty perfect, but it does require your workpiece to be very concentric. I work well within 0.01mm. I have found that the easiest way to consistently achieve that is to use a ER40 set-tru collet chuck.

Thomas Haas

Great video! The quiet intensity before everything begins, watching players warm up, locked in, going through their routines. It’s like you’re getting a glimpse behind the curtain, where the real nerves and focus live. It’s the same feeling you get at the Kentucky Derby, watching those thoroughbreds stepping out, muscles rippling as they head to the gate. You can feel the anticipation building in the air.

Congratulations to Thomas Haas for coming out on top in a field of 1,024. He gained recognition in 2025-2026 for winning tournaments, including the Bogies Billiards Houston Open Mini. Honorable mention goes out to Brent Worth, another rising star, for his fine second-place finish. Veteran Ryan "Genie Man" McCreesh came out tied for 3rd/4th.

Allen Hopkins always has THE BEST trophies. This is one that Thomas will always cherish, I'm sure.

He won this then turned around and won 30k off some dude in a race to 20 at Markleys at 230 the next morning. kid has been quietly winning everything and is so humble and nice it’s crazy. And yeah his dad has won the seniors and finished in the top 8 of the amateur. He can run 100 in straight pool like it’s nothing so he plays pretty sport to lol

Anti-elbow drop machine

The Gorstian follow through is the best way to maximize stroke length. The farther away you can place point Z the more stability you have in the critical cue ball strike zone and to a significant degree in the stick foul zones.

Contemplate this clip for a second and do what you like.
