What about all the DCC all-arounds that Efren would have won if the DCC had existed during Efren's prime?
Efren took up one pocket fairly late compared to the other disciplines. Certainly, by 2003, he was the guy to beat at one pocket. He also took up bank pool a little late and retired without even one Derby City bank pool title.

Though he eked out the all-around in 1999, in the first five Derby City Classics, Efren won 0 9ball titles, 0 bank pool titles, and 1 one pocket title. Any suggestion that he was a dominant all-around player before about 2003 does not hold up to scrutiny.

Yes, the Derby City Classic DID exist in Efren's prime as an all-around player, which would have been 2003-10. His five Master of the Table titles might stand as the record forever, but if there's a guy out there that can get to six, it is surely Gorst.

30 min practice spurts.. better then hit a million balls?

You have to find the balance. 30 minutes of play then drink 2 beers. Then 30 more minutes then 2 more beers. You also have to have a cigarette going while you are practicing then a cigarette during beer time. Now this interval varies depending on the player. Everybody is different.

Never been a smoker so I just adjusted my beer intake. An extra beer now and then to make up for no cigarette time!

I want some of what you're smoking. I love Shane to death, but Wu would DESTROY him at Duya 9 ball, and there are 20+ chinese guys that would destroy him at Heyball. If Shane was 20 years old again, and went to live in China and play snooker and chinese 8 ball, then, yeah, he would have been a top player over there. I don't know if there is a universe where he would be better than Wu.
I guess some people have reading comprehension problems, he said IF Shane played heyball. If Shane's focus was heyball from day 1, he'd play great heyball.

We all know how great Filler is, but before he enters GOAT talk, I want to see what he is doing at age 43 like SVB.

Really seems like a lot of players slow down at ages 30-35, then a smaller number get a second wind later in their career. Looking at all the quarterfinalists of Matchroom majors since 2022, a quick count shows players in their 20s, along with vets in their late 30s or early 40s, make the most waves on the tour.
