tip technology - hardness at center different from hardness at edges

A friend of mine who owns a tip company may has something coming which may change things a lot…
how about ordering tips that are the exact size of yours and go on without needing any shaping after.

have a small adjustable tube that slides over your ferrel and then put the glued tip inside and it fits securely on, no shaping.

Gold Crown II

A competent mechanic can get the nose height correct but the fact is, moden K55 rubber is 1/8" bigger that the Monarch SuperSpeed cushions that the tables were originally equipped with. Without modifying the subrail, you lose the 2:1 ratio playing surface. You wind up with 49.75" x 99.75" vs 50" x 100". Some think this is not a big deal while others (like myself) want the playing surface the correct size and ratio.
Yes they did state that you would lose the quarter inch playing surface.

Was pool better 50 years ago?

50 years back little to just a few gambler's tournaments. 40 years back might be a better compasision. other ones was as stu said mostly straight pool and more formal. and a true test of skill.

its more like going to a pro golf event which is of course regulated in every way, and a gamblers golf event . both you see good golf, one is expert the other is fun and exciting.

but two different clientele for the most part went to those events.

and you can be sure it was more fun at the gamblers events. and you sure saw great pool with great comments from the rail, and the players.
