Super Billiards Expo 2026

John Morra vs Lechner started an hour and a half ago and they're still at 5-5. Two super slow players [emoji58]

In more exciting news, FSR beat Billy 10-7.

Oscar vs Tyler battling it out 4-4, that match might be over at midnight.

Johnny may not be fast but he beat Max and then Fedor and is into the final 8. Let’s goooooo!

Oops I did it again (Yapp's) foul in a final, a second time!

you cant go by what an object ball does or direction of a ball. as then a ref may take it upon himself to make all kinds of strange calls.

how would like a ref make a call like, -- it had to be a push or double hit as on this table its impossible for you to have followed the shot that far with your stroke--.

I hate to break it to you, but what the OB or CB does is the best way to judge a number of things. Double hits when the CB is close to the OB (as Marcel correctly did on a double hit by Sky at a WNT event). Which ball was hit first (like in the Yapp situation).

It is the most reliable way to judge these things, at least absent super slow motion video (which isn’t available in any normal environment). I would like ref’s to make the call correctly, and not just say “I couldn’t clearly SEE the double hit or the wrong ball hit so it’s good”.

Another stupid thread from me: golf is harder than pool

easy to answer, both are easy and simple to learn. and i have made plenty at both and can't play any other sports worth a shit.

in only a few sports does the ball just sit there and not move and you walk up and take your time, wiggle around and hit it.
that's pool and golf, and maybe add croquet. and any fool can play and hit a sitting duck.

take tennis, baseball, ping pong, all sorts of sports the ball is flying fast at you and you have just a few or less seconds to be on it.

Is it possible to throw an object ball? Nope

In trying to picture the mechanics of a thin cut, I see that in passing the object ball, the cue ball bites in and starts its own friction and gearing effect. Because of this hold zone the cue ball may actually put that 5 degree spread on the original cut - before nonchalantly rolling away.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT
Well one has to think why people miss on a straight-in shot while perfectly hitting the object ball.
