Yeah, if some rail bolts were loose and Guama knew it, it was indeed a gaff table. The rail bolts should always be torqued tight so the rails play like they are supposed to play.

If this is true, Oscar had every right to check the table out before the match and make sure the rail bolts were tight and correct them if they weren’t. This accusation, if true, certainly makes Guama look like the cheater.

How a pro plays this shot and how most of us would / should play it are two completely different things. With the cue ball that close to the cushion at that angle, making it in the side pocket and stroking it with enough speed and spin to get around three cushions is not easy, at least it would not be for me. This is why I might choose to play the much easier safety. Of course the decision also depends on the skill level of your opponent.

If the shot doesn't allow a natural cb to hit the middle diamond on the foot rail, then this looks good.
But with cb off the rail, shooters now allowed to stun whitey to hit lower on the first long rail.
How far was the cb off the long rail, an inch plus???
