Can we talk about Dale Perry cues?

The plain truth is that anyone who owned a nice looking DP E Bay cue and sold it in excellent condition prior to 2021 probably wishes that they still had that cue as they most likely paid only about $125 or so for a cue that sells for $350 to $450 today and it played very well at either price point!

They hit like pure garbage compared to his older cues, in my opinion. Probably the worst cue I ever played with was a DP.

I have owned a pre e bay 1999 DP cue and an e bay era DP cue. The first one was a real nice player and excellent construction. The e bay era cue was surprisingly well made and played very well too- I only paid $125 or so for it back in about 2010. it was a real nice looking cue and it would command about $400 today as the bay era cues went up with inflation. My 1999 DP only sold for about $400 as well and it had ivory rings and a true Cortland linen wrap - Zebra wood and it was in A 1 condition.

I look at it as he did what he had to do to sell cues, I hold nothing against the man. He was an honest e bay seller, some liked those cues and some did not- Mine was a true bargain at the time and would be today at $400 as per the way it looked and played. Too bad his pre bay cues suffered in price - they were excellent cues.

His pre ebay cues were on another level, in quality and playability, in my opinion. They not only looked far nicer, and they hit far sweeter.

Not eBay stuff. The "good stuff".

Everyone knows the argument that he hurt the value of the older cues when began mass producing the LOA 1/1 cues.

That was then.

Anyone else got one they are proud of?

I had one that I felt was very high quality, and played really super nice. I think it must have been 90's era. It have some very nicely figured Birds eye maple, Ebony Points, with some other very nice wood inlays. Uni Loc joint. It was a super nice cue, I thought, and I liked it a lot. Thinking about it now, I really miss that cue. It really played very nice.

Twilight Zone...a game of pool

Just my opinion, but I think this is far better than the 1980's version...
There were at least three different versions with different actors. Winters/Klugman was the best by far in my opinion. I chased down three versions and had them on an old computer. A sudden crash and my usual sloppy back-ups. There were at least four different versions of the movie "Stagecoach" too that made John Wayne a real star. I used to watch multiple versions of movies just to compare. Reminds me, I wonder how many times they remade some of the old science fiction movies? I would have thought they wore out the costume for the creature from the black lagoon.

Winters and Klugman were solid pool players, some of the later actors seemed to be purely acting. The same way I rated players moving around a table I rated these later guys. Some seemed to be just making a video. Winters and Klugman seemed to be doing it for fun, not that they turned down the dollars!

Thomas killed him 21-13. Colson missed a LOT of straight in shots. He got lucky on a lot of those misses and left Thomas tough. I think the score would have been further apart otherwise. The table was tough, both players were feeling it. Thomas def played way better though.

I can see Colson chasing Thomas around the country, like Alex did with Shane.

Wow what a loser comment. Any woman succeeding must be a whore eh? We’re talking about a 16 yr old up and coming pool player. Don’t know wtf you’re talking about but sounds like you have some inner demons buddy.
My bad I thought dude was talking about only fans. I thought he meant they could wash out at pool and do something else. Sorry!

There is always simps out there. Sad world we live in where a girl who doesn't know the capital of her state can make a million a year being a bot whore.

I think for girls it might be better. Even if they are not champions, they can make a living with fans. A 730 male is a hero locally but broke on the national level. A 650 female might be able to milk her nationwide fan base and do well.
Agreed. Savannah for instance, she’s not living and dying off being staked in big sets. She’s getting sponsors, building a brand, playing pro events. How far she can go in pool remains to be seen but it’s quite clear she’s invested in branding herself, she’s got a good head on her shoulders, and she’s doing things in a clean professional way with a seemingly good support system. If my daughter took up a serious interest in pool I’d point to her as an example. And I’d point to these kids as maybe a bad example lol. That’s not to excuse my inner degen, but you get the picture
