Earl was playing Tang at the World Eight Ball at the Riviera Hotel around 1999 or 2000. Tang was playing great, making everything and getting out from everywhere. I was cheering for Tang since I was both his friend and backer. I was also applauding Earl for his good shots. Finally Tang wins the match and Earl looks up at me and yells out, "Jay, you think I'm an asshole don't you!" I replied, "Right now you are!" Everyone laughed and Earl shut up.

Think NFL. Two minutes left in the game. Team A is up by 4. What becomes the strategy for Team B. Does Team A continue with its previous strategy? Does the time on the clock add a new dimension to the game? Any fan of either team turning to another channel?

None of us has ever seen a pool match played against a GAME clock. We are only familiar with the SHOT clock.

No, I do not have an answer immediately should the player behind go into a stall in the crucial end phase out of spite. There could be a player so mean of spirit that if he knew he was going to lose he would stall and try to prevent the player who was winning from ever getting to the end of his third game, making them both lose. So I think the player in the lead would need the right to call for a shot clock at some point.

They are underdogs for sure, but they shouldn't lose this badly every year and should actually win here and there with the right coaching and personnel

Better coaching had a lot to do with it! Johann knew how to get the best out of his players.
