Stevie Chan Memorial - Denver, CO

SVB won his semifinal match (vs. Thompson) 7-2 and his 2 finals sets (vs. Steinhaus) 7-2 and 7-1.

For all 10 races to 7 he played in this event, he won 69 games and lost 21, a winning percentage of 77%.

SVB stats for the last 4 races to 7 he played (hotseat match, semifinal, and 2 sets in the final):
• Successful breaks -- 85% (17 of 20)
• Breaker won game -- 80% (16 of 20)
• B&R games -- 45% (9 of 20)
I was able to watch one of his matches in person. Barely took 30 mins. Definitely a man among boys. Made some sick shots.

Anyone know what first place money was? For both the tournament and the auction?

He probably did better than he would have netted traveling all the way to China to play that group of sharks.

Carbon Fiber

I like my Rhino must shaft on my Jacoby cue. I also like the Jacoby kielwood and ultra shaft on it. Mostly play with the Kielwood shaft that I added .3 oz to at the joint. Lately I've been playing more with the Must shaft. I like the Must shaft better than my regular Rhino shafts as it is a little more forward balanced. I've also added an 8g weight at the joint and weighted the cue to my liking. I did not like carbon shafts till I figured out how to get the balance I wanted, but now I play much more consistent with it. I actually think why some seem to struggle shafts has more to do with the balance of them vs the shafts they used before. The Rhino Must shaft is a great shaft.

Question ... about pool cue cases ... sorry for not being NPR

Hey. I’m curious about what Doc asked you but you missed.

Would you have a cue made with a bigger butt so you didn’t need 2-3 grips….or do you like the feel of the grips so you would keep the butt thinner to use them?
Here Steve,

More 'Precision/Control' of the cue!

That's what 'Feels' right my hand!

The more of the 'Grip Hand' on the cue with the meaty part of it the 'Less unwanted rotation' of the cue as the player follows-through!

You should know this, 98% of the 'Willie Hoppe Titlist' cues had 'Fat Leather Grips', but weighed 20-22 oz!

The Europeans 3C players have known this for 75 years, with rubber grips (determinded by length) a player can will add only 1/2 - 1.5 oz with 1-3 grips!

My cues without grips weigh 17-17.5 oz, with 3 grips 18.25-18.75 Total weight!
