Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

here's a company called Proqure that has different colored "carbon", but I couldn't get a straight answer out of them if it's a coating or not, so I'd say it most likely is. I'd be happy to be wrong though.

I'd love for a company to come up with a method or formulation to tint or color carbon fiber. I'd be interested to see if something like a graphene sheet could be colored and roll or filament wind a shell over a quality CF shaft.
Tickle Cues has colored carbon graphite butts and shafts at https://www.facebook.com/david.tickle.585118/

Double the Distance Aiming ???

I tried the DTD method. It seems to work at least most of the time. I missed a bunch of shots, though, before I started to get it right, especially as the cuts became more severe.

That said, since I have little trouble visualizing the ghost ball, I have a much better time (and shorter time!) simply aiming at the center of the imaginary ghost ball.

To those of you for whom this method works, good on you!

World Darts Championship.....................

I've said this before, but let's thank Barry Hearn for liking pool so much that he wanted to see it as part of the matchroom portfolio. From my understanding, it's really not much of a money maker for him but he loves pool.
This is my view as well, it started with the mosconi and world pool masters, 1999 was his first big world championships in Cardiff wales. That one, was exciting!! How you compare it to, todays game, you shouldn't, different era, different time in my opinion.

Seybert’s shipping prices

I used to order from them quite a bit, bought 3 great Schon's from them, always had big orders, so shipping was cheap or free. Always liked them.
After reading this I put a hat in my cart and checked shipping. $23. While cheaper than your quote, still really high. As it was about $13 cheaper, I wonder if what is going on is when you order, Seyberts isn't the one that is shipping. That would explain the difference in what I saw and what you were quoted as the hats are actually being shipped from the producer.
Just for kicks, put a different brand hat in your cart and see if you get a different ship rate.
Edit I just read Slides post and he got a different rate yet.

What's your favorite pool memory from 2025?

To you Trob, that’s the interesting thing in life, it’s all about perspective. You think gambling is dumb, you’re entitled to your opinions.

I have an opinions too. I look at people who buy multiple cues, $400+ CF shafts, $20+ chalks, gloves, cases, garish plastic shirts to play in a league on bar boxes and call themselves “pool players”, and I think that’s dumb. I mean, I never heard of those playing miniature golf calling themselves golfers. Or those that go to go cart tracks calling themselves nascar or formula one drivers. Why? Because they’re not. You see it’s all about perspective.

And to you Tennessee Joe, you’re entitled to your opinion as well. What I’ve written above here regarding bar box players thinking they’re pool players, this is what’s wrong with pool. It’s why Americans are the laughingstock of the professional pool world, a nation that once turned out the finest players in the game and now are an afterthought, because of their affinity for bar boxes over pool tables. I know this isn’t a popular opinion here at AZB, the lair of the “league players”, yet it doesn’t make it any less true. Have a great day gentlemen.
Perspectives, yep.... Opinions of course, and we had to fight Indians before they Opened Bensingers in Chicago. :)
We're an extremely New Country, didn't take us long to put Mosconi on the Brunswick payroll did it :).
Our combined social structure of Great Players/Knoxville Bear/Lassiter etc... and of course the Europeans trying to infiltrate was life.
60's ....The Gold Crowns were made, then the industry/life changed.
TV put pool tables in Bad movie scenes.
Fats was put to rest.
Liquor infested pool rooms.
7's were BORNE.

How Often Can You Run This?

On pro spec equipment, I think that anyone that can run these out in numerical order more than 70% of the time is probably Fargo 700+.
No access to pro spec but I can run that as pictured probably 80% on my ProAm with standard pockets. (provided I'm hitting balls a couple times per week)
If you put the balls against the rails where they belong it's more like 60% I imagine.
Those shots are all in the 60 minute workout and the 6-pointed star drills.
Anyone who took lessons from Bert has been clubbed over the head with these shots for years lol.
I am currently switching back to maple shafts so I need to relearn the deflection to be consistent.
