6.1 Scoring System
Golden Nine matches adopt a points-based scoring system, using the cue ball and object balls numbered 1 through 9. Players must strike object balls in numerical order from lowest to highest.Match points are calculated based on Break and Run, Table Run, Standard Win, and Fouls:
• Break and Run: 10 points
• Table Run: 7 points
• Standard Win: 4 points
• Foul: 1 point awarded to the opponent
Definitions:
Break and Run:
The breaker legally breaks and clears the table in the same inning.
Table Run (any of the following situations):
(1) After pocketing a ball on the break, the breaker clears the table in one uninterrupted inning and pockets the 9-ball by combination or carom;
(2) When only the 1-ball and 9-ball remain on the table during non-break play, and either player clears the table (pocketing the 9-ball mid-run does not count as a Table Run);
(3) The 9-ball is pocketed on the break;
(4) All nine object balls are pocketed on the break.
Standard Win:
Any other situation in which a player wins a rack.
Foul Scoring:
For the first and second fouls committed by a player within a rack, the opponent receives 1 point per foul.
If a player commits three fouls in the same rack, the third foul awards the opponent 2 points, and the rack ends immediately.
Any reason this type of scoring can't be adapted to bucket 9 ball?

How far would you travel for league?

I am close to two hours. I have a son and daughter on a team and both had babies the same month, so I was going to fill in for them when the grand kids were both born.

I guess the team kinda liked me, so yeah. Never considered myself a league player, but I have made a lot of friends and it is fun to show off my mini cues to other players.

In the past the only time I had to deal with 7ft tables was to step over them to get to the 9fters.
Learning curve that I have now gotten used to.

WTB - Kielwood shaft to fit 3/x11 pin

I have an Omen Cue that I would like to try with a kielwood shaft. Joint diameter of butt is approximately .836". Shaft joint doesn't have to be exactly that diameter, but would like it close.

If you have one that you would sell, please let me know maker, specs and conditions.

Scammers, please don't waste my time and it will be a waste of your time!

Thanks
Reach out to Richard Hsu and be done with it...

2026 AZB Ghost Challenge - Official Thread

Played set where i lost 5-7 10-ball Ghost. Uploaded because I used small piece of paper to be target of cueball on match. It kinda makes me play slow but I wanted to boost my focus. I think I should white wash Ghost with this kind of control what i got over cueball but I just keep sucking @ss..
Just missing all kind of balls. I still think I played okay and got couple bad rolls but couple misses i got are very foolish haha.
I think some might find interesting to see my cueball target practice play so here it goes...
Login to view embedded media (no any editing. So there is little empty in beginning. I just took file from phone and uploaded it.. there is scoreboard still:)
I like to use arrow keys to jump 10 sec per push, if i watch slow(er than normal) play..

Wht did they use a Balabushka cue in the film "The Color of Money"?

As I recall, 5 were made.
Newman gave his copy for charity in Israel, I’m still waiting for it to pop up at some flea market…
I posted about it with a news clip years ago here on the forum

Edit:
Here is what I posted almost 20 years ago.... (amazing that this cue is still a hot topic)
In 2002 the "Jordan River Village" was founded in Israel which is "where seriously ill children can just be kids" this place is part of the HITW that was started by Paul Newman.
To kick start it a public auction took place. Paul Newman donated the original Joss "Balabushka" cue which was signed by him and Tom Cruise and was sold that night for $7000
