What pin is in it ? When I balance and weigh my cues i play around with the weight bolt and joint pin weight to get a balance. I'm thinking Bert Shrager use to put a weight below the joint pin and one in back too to balance things out. Some weight the back of the shaft
Thank you, I’m not really talking about a specific pool cue. While assembling my last few pool cues, I tried to manipulate the weight to give them a forward balance. I seem to recall reading that weight has been installed in the core, but I’ve never read it being installed behind the pin. The weight bolts I have are 3/8-16 (.3 oz). The problem I have is I primarily use 3/8-10 pins with a .308 pilot. I suppose I could install them and then insert a plug over the top of them for the pin, or install a longer plug with the weight installed at the bottom, but I worry about the forearm becoming weak. My last pool cue, I ended up using a copper pin, simply for the weight. I’d prefer not being forced to use any particular pin to accomplish forward balance. I’ve never thought about putting a weight in the shaft and quite honestly that seems like asking for trouble.
Congrats to Team Spain on winning the Men's Teams, essentially a reimagination of the World Cup of Pool, which most of us loved. Same scotch doubles format, exact same prize money, great event.
As FSR and Alcaide managed gold and bronze respectively at the US Open 9ball in August, this result should have surprised nobody.
Having Biado as his partner surely helped Manas, who is prone to mistakes in the moves game. Carlo kept him on track. In set three, at double hill, AJ played a superb safety with a jacked-up cue and it proved to be the set winner when FSR whiffed on the very difficult kick he faced. I wish to thank Ray and Bogies for hosting the event. Everything was great. Beating Ike was like cutting down a redwood with a finger nail file. He’s one tough customer. I received some good breaks and was able to capitalize on them. It’s time to go home.
They are best of five sets in a World Championship, as we saw a week ago at the WPA World 10ball and also in this week's WPA Women's World 9ball. In each case, I thought the match was too long, but to each his own. Still, I can just about accept a longer match when a world championship is one the line. As we know, pro tennis plays three sets out of five at its four biggest events each year, but just three sets in all other tournaments. Pool, it seems, has copied pro tennis.
That said, the Bali 10ball was not a world championship and best two out of three sets was definitely enough for this fan.
The video shapes tip too angled---like a cone head.
The video, too, does nothing to protect the ferrule from glue sticking on it.
