WNT Legends

MR is getting a great deal of useful feedback about the $30 PPV, mostly from wnttv.com subscribers. Or, rather, former subscribers. ;)
I get the complaints about sporadic service for viewers. I also get the complaint from subscribers such as myself about a pay-per-view fee. To me, $30 was too high. I might have sprung for $10 or $15.

What I don't get, is the complaint about PPV in general. It's a longstanding tradition on cable, especially for sports such as boxing.

I have no problem with MR trying to make money and to appeal to viewers with something different. Pool promoters need to make more money for the good of the sport. I know you know that, Bob, even if most miserly pool fans do not. The sport has such cheapo fans!

The only quibble I had was with the price, though spotty WNT TV service would have enraged me!

Fedor Gorst - looking for action in Louisville, KY tomorrow. If you could - would you?

I understand everyone's perspective - was just sharing mine. Granted Sky and Fedor are different people but I'm basing my expectation on what happened with one and I'd articulate that with the other if the opportunity came up. If I lost a a $100.00 set to Fedor and got nothing from it, no guidance/advice/thoughts post set and didn't think it was worth it, then I'd pull up and pay him $100.00 and walk away - so be it. Let's face it, $100.00 doesn't have the buying power it used to so losing it isn't going to break me or piss me off - it's just what it cost me to play. Now if I took as much away from that set as I did from Sky, then I'd play another on the same terms. It's all personal preference and depends on the situation and how it plays out, but I understand and appreciate everyone's perspective as no one's wrong in what they said.

Looking to purchase a pool table for my home. Need some advice.

If you play on 7 footers, buy a 7 footer. Lots of Valleys out there. Get new cushions and cloth, even tighten the pockets a little. You can get a table for under a grand and for well under 2k have a pretty sweet bar box.

8 foot tables there are many pretty furniture tables that the wife will like. They won't ever play like a heavy commercial table. If you go that route find a good name, Olhausen, Connelly and better Brunswicks. Avoid Chinese trash.
