Veritasium on becoming an expert

I wonder if one of us duplicated a layout on a neutral table and took a picture of it, if the pro that shot it would immediately recognize it, where it was, who his opponent was, etc. Just like the video did with Magnus.
I think there are some 3-cushion players who would remember critical hard shots from particular games. Maybe it would be the same for 9 ball. For both, individual positions are nearly always pretty close to a dozen other layouts they have already played.

CRICAL carbon fiber shaft review.

That is an interesting post and suggests scratch repairs can be done but they won't look scratchless and matching finishes may be impossible.

For what its worth, here are comments discussing turning a shiny and too sticky (!) carbon fiber shaft into a smoother less shiny shaft at https://forums.azbilliards.com/thre...-fiber-shaft-slick-again.576897/#post-8164893

Back when Cuetec first introduced coated shafts (fiberglass?), they had a nice, shiny finish. They were also sticky and impossible to play with if you used a closed bridge. The solution was to sand them and make the finish dull. Eventually, Cuetec started doing this at the factory, which they should have done from the start.
I guess it depends on your shaft, If the Jacoby ever got sticky to where alcohol wouldn't clean it, I wouldn't hesitate to do a very light wet sanding with 2000 or 3000, but on shafts that seem to have a darker look or a shiny look, I'm not sure. If out of warranty, I would probably try a light wet san
Predator does refinish (recharge) shafts for $80 including replacing tip. See photo below from their video showing the refinished shaft duller than shinier shaft sent to them. See https://support.predatorgroup.com/h...06949594-Predator-Repairs-Returns-Information

CRICAL carbon fiber shaft review.

In your work on the carbon fiber shaft below, it appears the shaft went from scratched to smooth. How did you do that?

Trick of the trade… I rolled it over to the other side.

If needed I sometimes lightly polish the top inch or two of the shaft after polishing the ferrule.

Actually fixing deep scratches is a problem.
