DCC one pocket speed-up rule

Unless there is a major change, I don't see DCC getting rid of it's scheduling issues to the point where you can drop the final Sunday and get to bed by 10PM on Saturday after the 9 ball finals.

I think there are better ways to fix the one pocket match lengths than these new rules, but it will be interesting to see how they work.

As for whether it will still be one pocket ... maybe start thinking of one pocket as two different games: private-match one pocket and tournament one pocket.

They pretty much did these rules last year -- they've been monkeying with them the last two.

DCC one pocket speed-up rule

Agree with the spirit of this post. FYI, I have suggested before that a rule could be added that any race featuring two players of less than 600 Fargo be a race to 2. Still, I do not favor cutting off entry based on Fargo. To me, that robs the Derby of its identify every bit as much as the new one pocket rules rob one pocket of its identity.

Speed up rules not only rob its identity, it shoots it in the back of the head.

New Olhausen tournament model..................

I just got done spending some time with someone who was at the tmt with some friends playing in it. They said table pocketed balls very easily, compared to Diamonds and the view of some players there, the table played somewhat slow. The tables did appear to play true in the youtubes. They also said cost was reported to be apx 2K more than a Diamond, but wasn't sure if that was a Pro Am or Professional for comparison.
I have to admit in the youtubes the table looked nice except for the shiny corners.

Yeah “let’s make a competing product, but not make the cost anywhere near competitive” sounds about right for them.

Best jump shaft wood or material

I've seen jumpers built built in every configuration. They all work and there is not a one-size-fits-all. The best advice I can give in building any cue is this; build yourself a few. One heavy, one light. One maple, one Purpleheart....etc. Figure out which one suits you best. Let others test them. Get feedback. Apply the new knowledge into another round of testing. You will never waste time or material by learning from trial and error.
Thx

My idea is to buy 13.9mm Chinese carbon fiber shaft from Aliexpress, glue Taom 2.0 B/J tip on it and build 4-piece break/jump cue with maple butt, similar to PureX BJ cue. Jump parts intended to be as light as possible, but break extension will be heavy a lil bit

(I believe break cues are biggest fraud in pool history, but if you can put an extension on jump cue, why not?)

So, if there is no right-to-choice wood for jump shaft which is much better than carbon, I will try to build one in described configuration

Thanks for your answers, gentlemen!

Sounds perfect!!!!! Diamonds pocket balls too tough, and bounce off the rails like super balls.
