1000 Fargo

I'll make you a bet and say Tyler will not be winning any WNT major tournaments in 2026. There are hundreds if not thousands of players with very very very solid pool fundamentals, but that alone doesn't equate to winning.

I would love to be proven wrong though, as I do admire and love his dedication and tenacity for the game. I just don't think he has that killer-instinct that a champion needs. Maybe he needs to gamble more.
We're talking about making USA Team Mosconi cup only, you don't have to win a title, finishing high and get as may points as possible will do, I like Styler chance this year.

There are not thousands of players with very very very solid pool fundamentals :cautious: may be solid and very solid, not very very very solid :ROFLMAO:

"In the middle"

The phrase "In the middle" really grinds my gears. I've been playing pool for 30+ years, and gambling for at least 20 of them. In all of those years, if you were betting $500, everyone would say "they're playing for $500" or "they're betting $500" Nobody would ever say, "they're playing for $1000 or $1000 in the middle" As I'm typing this, Lukas Fracasso-Verner is playing Shane Wolford at the DCC a set of one pocket. In the bottom right corner it says, "One Pocket $50k race to 7" Is that in the middle, or $50k each? Who thought that phrase was a good idea when it came to gambling?
" In the middle" is pretty lame, I think "jack it and back it" is even worse. The nits seem to love it though.

"In the middle"

It took me a long time before "in the middle" quit grating. As far as I am concerned it is a bullshit term for promoters and I'm not likely to change my mind. Now when I hear about a bet I automatically divide by two unless they make plain they are talking about the bet and not "in the middle."

As a courtesy, when I am practicing and people want a table to gamble on it I will usually give it up. I do ask about the bet though. If they tell me they are playing for six dollars in the middle I keep the table!

I can't remember two gamblers negotiating a deal at a local hall for an amount in the middle. Sounds like something the small time hustlers would try to do then give you half if you won and collect all of it if they won.

1000 Fargo

My money is on Styler, dude has been on Mosconi Cup team since 2018. 2 missed 9-ball shots and everyone saying he is done?
Styler vs the rest of the players who people want them to be on Mosconi Cup (such as Meglino, Jesus, Oscar, Bergman, Lucas, BJ, Hennessy etc.), , 9-ball, each race to 40 or so. I'll pay $29.99 to watch the stream each match. I like Styler because he has a very very very solid pool fundamentals (stance, stroke etc.) his mental game will improve as he ages, he will be in the 800 Fargo club soon.

bergman, meglino, atencio you got action..

SVB vs Josh Filler announced for Feb 6th at NYC's Amsterdam Billiards

I think this is a good first step for pool and pool players. 2 best players on Earth playing each other, in middle of NYC, $50 per ticket is a bargain.
Everyone should just set stream price at $50 minimum. Eventually people will accept it LOL.
Pool fans need to start buying more tickets, streams and pack those venues on live matches. In returns, brands will sponsor, ESPN will look at pool again. Right now no company will sponsor a event that has a final championship match at 2AM on Monday, even if it was Fedor vs Filler...
