Have you heard about Titlist chalk (by Dr. V's Custom Shop) before SVB's recent announcement?

Hard for me to believe it costs more than a few dollars to produce any chalk, but if they were that cheap to produce, you'd expect competition to drive down prices. We'll see. New entrants are coming in all the time.
change few dollars to cents.

of course new entrants will come in as the mark up is huge.

Automatic Shot Clock

I would rather see a product that uses a cheap commodity video device like a go-pro to monitor when balls stop moving. Use it with software that runs on a laptop or rasperry pi. Not sure if that would work with spinning balls though.
Sounds much more complicated than Digiball and a timer. If the camera wont catch spinning balls its really of no use.

As far as I am aware it illegal to carry where alcohol is served. I also believe there was a thread on this very forum about a shooting in a pool hall right here in America. Are the following enough for now or do you require more? This is much more effort than I was planning to put into a tongue in cheek comment.

Tough thumbs-up!

Could straight pool thrive with a gimmick format?

I’m not keen on aligning with the 900 concept, but I’ve thought about the English Billiards timed format. It keeps the tournament on schedule and if players are playing poorly it brings matches to a merciful end rather than trying to endure two players attempting to compile 500-1000 points in increments of 10 and 12.

The main downside is that if one player builds a commanding lead, the last 20-30 minutes is a bit of a slog since the losing player can’t catch up. Which has led me to wonder if there should be a mercy rule to keep things moving and interesting.

So for 14.1 you could do either 1 or 1.5 hour matches in the group stage, 2 hours in the knock out, and 2.5 or 3 hours or more in the final. It would also theoretically allow for runs greater than 200 depending on how quick they play.

Can you recite something within the geographical borders of the USA? And if anyone was really worried about this
happening in your locale, get off your ass and apply for your CCW, presuming it is even needed in your state to pack.
If there was exploding pool balls being used by terrorists in Zanzibar, would you quit going to pool rooms in the USA?

I am enjoying the Titlist chalk. Really like how well it applies to all tips, including phenolic ones. Definitely different than Taom, or Kamui.

Still not sure I will switch from Taom V10 green, my preferred chalk. It will depend on how long one piece of Titlist chalk lasts. Going to spend that kind of money, I want a piece of chalk to last a very long time.

The Taom V10 green lasts a long time and applies well, though not quite as well on my break cue. The more competition the merrier. Hopefully it reduces prices.
