What is a cue’s “hit”?

I think to really understand a cues "hit" or feedback you need to try at least 2 specific cues, one that you really don't like the "feel" of and one that you love the "feel" of. I absolutely know what I don't like in a cue, its one where all you get is a real dull thud when you strike the cue ball. Most cues with soft and super soft tips feel like that to me. If you want to change the "feel" of your cue try taking the bumper off of it for a few shots, it has drastically changed the feel of every cue I have tried this with so far.

Ah the memories, when I was 5 and my little sister 3, I tried to teach her to say Grandma. Her version was Bong Gong. So I tried breaking it down with, "say Grand" which she did. Then, "say Ma" which she did. Then "say Grand Ma." Which was always followed with, "Bong Gong."
Just catching up with this thread...

Reminds me of my Italian maternal grandmother, IIRC, some time in her 60s. She had a neighbor named Rudy Gerstenburger.

Nanny couldn't say the "burger" part without adding "ham-". So it would be "Rudy Stenhamburger". I remember doing the same with her.

"Say "Ger." "Ger."

Say "Sten." "Sten."

Say "Burger." "Burger."

"Gerstenburger." "Gerstenhamburger."

On another note, since this thread referenced shooting both right- and left-handed, and had some Yogiisms, let's add this gem: "I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous." He was a treasure.

Meucci still with the bad customer service

yea give them some time they are a new business. only in business for 50 years. growing pains are tough.
Yes growing pains can be tough. And yes they have been in business for 50 years. They have new owners for a few years now. They have been working to improve quality, and customer service. Only this year did they start working on introducing some new models. They are remodeling, updating equipment, bringing on new employees. The one thing that they are not doing is pushing out lesser quality products. They are taking a hit on lead times as a result. I have been in manufacturing for 32 years and for the last 10 I have been contracting with a wide variety of companies, so I have a pretty good perspective. I am proud of what Meucci is doing and I think they are on the right track. There are always issues and opportunities no matter the business.

Some call it self hypnosis
Some call it in a trance.
Some call it In The Zone.

Pressure can provide a jangling phone ring type of twitch. Just enough.
Well I know from experience and have Dan Louie confession of feeling the nerves.
So answer the phone when the feeling arrives.
Step back to survey stance. Place the chalk on the tip and let self to self sort it. Easy. 🤷‍♂️
Savoring the moment at impact with attention to the exit wound on the imaginary unmovable cueball.
