3 things you would change about pool

to see filler and gorst play a set on a diamond bar table would be great to watch if everything wasnt so shiney

fedor played quite a lot of bar table in his dog year with the WPA ban, the amount of missed shots probably in single digits. doesn't constitute fun watching for me. kind of true with justin bergman and tom cousins in ultimate pool too. one dry break can determine. somehow mid tier players are more fun to watch playing that game, and ultimate pool does a good job letting all sorts of players play

Billiard Industry needs

The OP seems to have been referring to the "island" problem of a group of players who are inbred, play-wise. They are sort of a bubble. Cavitation is the formation of bubbles in liquid, such as when propellers on boats move too fast. (Bad for the propeller.)
Yes sir. Indeed I am. I noticed the 'island' problem empirically and never sought out if someone (or a collective) had also noticed it, so I described it how I envisioned it. I will call it an island going forward and not a microbubble (cavitation). One would think that a problem so obvious that it earned a name, would have been solved by now. I have a few ideas to solve the 'island' issue. It's just mafs.

Billiard Industry needs

I've always wanted to explore a tool that measures deflection/squirt,
A Chinese researcher posted in the last year a video of his tests of a unit that would test deflection. I cannot find the link, however.

Predator and Meucci have made their own cue-ball hitting machines.

Dr Dave shows you to do deflection testing without a machine at Login to view embedded media
There is great interest in this. Even Dr Dave's tests would be adequate in my opinion. It has its caveats but seems to be the best available now. It seems the cost of accessing ten shafts is an obstacle.

3 things you would change about pool

i havent its the optics of the entire thing that make me not want to watch
uniform look, jerseys and slacks, yuck
highly polished balls you see the glare of the light on
the whole layout like an area doesnt make me want to watch

I see why you don’t like the looks. I don’t like the obnoxious shot clock and some of the rules. But it is still worth a watch IMO. You will see some good bar box 8 ball.

I may have mentioned it before but I like watching the Seco Varani invitational on YouTube. They posted the last several years. The field average is about a 675 FargoRate with several mid 700 guys. Good Upper Midwest bar box 8 ball on Valleys with slow cloth. Winner breaks. Only downside is some very slow play from some. The 10 second ff on YouTube helps somewhat. The proponents of a short shot click might not like it. But the rules that allow real 8 ball defensive play and good players sometimes lead to slower play. And some do just look em over a lot.

Is there a reason why it still shows Hohmann representing Germany (Hohmann became a US citizen a few weeks ago), other than maybe the graphics data for Hohmann has yet to be updated? Does Thorsten choose to still represent Germany? Just wondering.
He was eligible to request from Matchroom that he represent the USA ever since they had changed their policy for Fedor to only require permanent resident status. So odds are, he’s never made the request.

He was eligible to request from WPA that he represent the USA ever since he became a US citizen. I assume this means he has dual citizenship and currently has not made the request to the WPA either. They also have some weird stipulations on changing your country of representation that can be waived/expedited which I believe they did for Allison Fisher.

But in either case earning your citizenship alone is not an automatic trigger to make the change in representation.
