Bad news- there's a thief amoungst us

I guess some of the phrasing, I used, could have been better. I always thought, you don't steal from your own kind, or anyone, for that matter. Whatever I said, the look on the ladies face after she was robbed and while I had the unfortunate experience of playing her next, sickened me. I know this ladie well and she's a mother of six that's working her ass off trying to get as far as her game will take her, and some a-hole, is doing there best to ruin her dream. It takes time to get used to new equipment and the cost incurred suck even more.

My intention was to make people aware of the problem. I think with the amount of replies and views, in a short span of time, I've done what I set out to do.

Don't take this the wrong way, but, I have a hard time finding humor in other people's misery. Especially a lady as nice as Liz. Mike didn't deserve his fate either.

I agree nothing is funny about being stole from. We've come to a sad place in our society when it is normal and accepted that these things happen.

I learned a long time ago that the best practical way to secure your case, Armani Leather jacket, etc. is to put them under the table you are playing on. It works.

And take your cue to the bathroom with you:)

Erica, that is terrible!!!!!! But aint it pretty tough to walk out w/ someones whole case.....??? Inany case it happen and I feel bad and I don't even no them.
If I cought someone taking someones $hit, mine or a friends I would hold them down and break each finger one by one. And I think a few will agree...

I'm with you. My stuff is like my family. If you try to do something to either, god have mercey on you, I won't.

You Got That Jack!!

And take your cue to the bathroom with you:)

I learned long ago not to trust anyone with my valuables period. I am totally responsible and will not put myself or my friends in a situation that could become a problem. My cue case stays UNDER the table when I play and the whole case and cues go with me in hand wherever I go in a pool hall, be it the mens room, the bar or anywhere. I also do not leave them in my vehicle where they are visible. Whenever I leave a pool hall I leave with other people and park in a well light area if possible. Thieves are mostly looking for the easy mark so anything you can do to minimize your exposure is in your favor and that is the way you have to think. I fell great sorrow for anyone that has been the victim of thieves, I know that gut wrenching sickening feeling one has when they realize they have been had!
Hope this helps even one person!!

This is the best advice on a thread that mostly points out that thieves exist, a fact we ALL know only to well. There are ways to recover stolen cues. You can read about a couple of them in Pool Wars if you so desire. And these were not simple recoveries either.

No we can't! It's all a fignewton of our imagination!

((3/20 + a few) - 3/6) = 2.5378 weeks to go!!!!!!

(granted I am not an international like Austin P)

Good and bad news! I just found out my completion date is now 3/19. But they have to ship nine cartons of books to me for the Limited Edition series. That will take four days. My goal is get everyone a book in their hands by the end of this month. Then you can read it at your leisure.

delete. Sorry, Forgot to quote Jack Madden's last post.

Absolutely keep your cue with you at all times. It is unfair to your friends to expect them to watch it for you. And what are you going to do if they snooze and and its stolen while under their care--bill them for it?

I have a friend I built a cue for a couple years ago. Good player -- bar player. I asked him (since I know he doesn't always watch his "stuff" and it was a s.p.) if he wanted his name engraved in the butt cap. He said NO. Well 4-5 months went by, he called in a panic. His cue was stolen and needed me to build him another. Said put my name in it!! I have engraved names in several of the custom cues I have built for that reason. My name is in mine:)
