White Diamond's - Lafayette, LA

Now thats the kind of trip report I like to read! I too have seen the "Wall of Death" a few times myself. I always ask the question.....Why? LOL

Great story JoeyA. You write quite well.

Thanks TX PoolNut! Maybe I will be able to write about a trip to Houston in the near future. Glad you liked my writing.

Where is the best bar table tournament in the U.S.? We already know who the best bar table player is. ;)

As for myself, I think I am going to retire from playing on bar tables if I have to stay awake all night and all day. :thud: :thud:

Thanks, once again, for sharing you opinion.

I happen to, once again, vehmently disagree with your opinion.

Long live Jesse Bowen, Best Bar Table Player in the Land, with a personality to match.

Well, Corey is still staked, so all somone has to do is belly up to the bar and stake Jesse and we will find out who is the best.... Chips has made the offer repeatedly for 4 or more years and not one single person has ever stepped up to stake Jesse. One would think that if Jesse really was the best on the toy table that he would get up himself or someone would have staked him by now. So since the offer has been made repeatedly and no one has ever stepped up, I proclaim Corey to be the best bar table player alive!

BTW, Chips will bet higher than that Georgia Pine you speak of....

Saw, you are beating a dead horse. You should know better than arguing with jam anyway. She tells everyone how they should feel about everything, so why wouldn't you let her tell you who the best bar box player in the world is. After all, she did watch Lil John and McCready give Bartram the breaks on a bar box after all...LOL!!! Everyone on here knows Jesse Bowman is NOT going to mess with Corey on a bar table, and if by chance he does, they all got me. I'm sure your boy Bart will go broke too, but its all good. Actually, this thread is so much better than talking about Chohan that I want to commend all participants, even Jam, for their opinions and actually talking about pool. Green Rep to all, and to all a good night! I forgot, I dont know how to give it!

I was there and had a conversation with Joey and I fully understand. I played Joey Gray at 3:30 am and played like a zombie. I was absolutely whacked and then got the good news that I needed to be back at 9:00am.

David G and i drove to the rooom as auickly as possible to get what sleep we could as we knew Sunday was going to be just sheer torture. hen play got off a bit slowly and we didn't play until about 1;15 Sunday PM. By then, I was absolute toast, done, finished. Nick Hood then handed me my ass and played great doing it.

We then got out of there after David got knocked out and got some sleep and drove to Beaumont where David Played Soney until 2:am. We then got some sleep and drove to San Antonio only to get here about 2:30 tuesday afternoon where I played the Hammer until 9:30 and then said I had had enough pool for a few days and now finally at home.

I am way too old for this shit.

He said they were about to start the 2nd calcutta with the final 32 players left..he said not too much action cuz there aren't many tables open...said it was packed with standing room only...he's 3 deep on the winners side & went for $2000 in first calcutta...he wasn't picked in the blinds...they had 3 or 4 blinds..but was number 93 on players list & sells for $200 more than the 1st n 2nd blinds which were henny & Jessie B n sold for $1800 a piece...CRAZY !!!!!

Three people sold for $1800.

I didn't write down all what Gary told me.

Three people sold for $1800.

I was just stating how he said that he wasn't picked in none of the 3 blind bids & they went for $1800...he mentioned Jessie & Henny....if it was 3 then it was 3 but he was amazed that he was the 95th player auctioned off & he went For $200 more than the blind bids...wasn't trying to misrepresent the truth..just showing how crazy the calcutta was.

I wasn't there !

If it makes him feel better Henny went for $2,000. I know this cause I bought him and David G for $1800.

I was just relaying info after my talk with Gary...I have No idea of the actual breakdown of who sold for what.

Yep, but you also got the ribeye dinner too!!! That was pretty funny.

That Chris is pretty good and maybe the best auctioneer I have ever seen.

Chris is the best auctioneer in the business. He makes guys who won't bet water is wet get in on the action in one of the worst bets in the place sometimes. Yah and hell the ribeye was the bonus but that was for Joey Gray not David G.
