I second this -- Evgeny has such a beautiful and effortless stroke. No matter the shot, looks like "just a walk in the park." And he has such a relaxed gait around the table, as well. Could be the quarter-finals for the U.S. Open, but he makes it look like he's just practicing at home.

Another I'd add to the list is Cliff Joyner -- a stroke much like Buddy's!

I don't know how Keith got on that list. As effective as his stroke is, it is not a thing of beauty. Ralf Souquet, though I must admit he has a nice stroke, he is so damn slow he is painful to watch play.
It is funny the other day I was going to start a similar thread. I was thinking about this, the most graceful athletes in various disciplines. There are just some athletes who it is a pleasure to watch regardless of the outcome of the contest. Frank Shorter in long distance running, Ted Williams' swing in baseball, "Dr J" in basketball (Michael Jordan a close second), etc.; but when I thought of pool one person stood out head and shoulders above the rest and that person was Buddy Hall, a stroke as smooth as a hot knife through butter.

Right there with Hopkins and Diliberto. He had a short choppy stroke that was like a clean crisp jab. Never missed with it either! :wink:

Are we talking power or fundamentals? I always was fond of Danny Harrimans stroke..great fundamentals...as for power and the confidence to use it even when jacked up on the rail for a table lenght draw....hands down is Larry Nevel!

I didn't see

Jose Parcia - the most important thing to a great stroke is controlling the rock and I am not sure anyone did it better than Jose.

More than one old timer has told me that Greenleaf's was by far the best stroke they'd ever seen.

Sweetest Stroke

Without question IMO it would be Jay "Swanee" Swanson. He hit the ball about 3/4 of the speed everybody did to do the same thing. It was the smoothest and most powerful stroke I have ever seen.
