A final pm to a cuemaker..

I frankly believe that Petros has done everything to get things alright on his end, not to mention, that he was a RETURNING CUSTOMER, the one every businessman should respect the most.

Calling him mentally ill or implying / stating that the fault is on his end is way out of line and totally uncalled for. Should anyone be interested about the name of the guy, he should PM Petros and ask kindly stating his/her concerns about getting screwed... anyways, I believe that it shouldn't take anymore than the IQ of a potato + a couple of months spent on this board to know who the cue maker was.

I always stay out of these kinds of things and only mention my best wishes but not in this case.

I hope things will turn out fine, Petros.

Sincerely,
David Bredan

Very Good Post, and certainly right on target. I do not know the gentleman who started this thread but, obviously he has and is trying to remain respectful throughout, and pointing fingers at him for this is wrong.

The price of the cue and cue makers name have been mentioned throughout this thread, I am personally shocked that Kevin Varney's name has shown up again in this manner. Now I do not have any information other then what has been posted but if Kevin is the individual outlined here when is enough enough.

Just my thoughts

Hey maybe you should start a poll to give K.V. a "second chance"....

With all of the trouble people have had on these boards with custom makers that are not big names, it almost seems wiser to just buy a decent production cue instead of taking a chance on these cue makers. It is sad that the good custom guys will suffer because of the poor ethics of a few lately!

side question who is the maker of the cue in your avatar? love that Ivory star
Thanks Kennan

oops posted a name

kennan, that cue was made by joe callaluca from new hampshire. he has done a few of those bumperless cues with engraved ivory discs. he is joe c here on az.

I assure you that Petros is a gentleman and he has only the best intentions. Maybe he felt he needed to get something off his chest and felt this the right forum to do so. Alot of you do that all the time.

First of all, petros did nothing wrong. His post was dignified in that he intentionally refrained from lowering his position of violated customer, down to the level of the dishonest cuemaker, and at the same time, without naming names, getting his message to the cuemaker.

Furthermore, if it really is kevin varney who is involved, I must say that I am REALLY disappointed in him, not only as businessman, but as a person. It wasn't that long ago that KV first started selling his cues here that he was visciously attacked, for no good reason, IMO (at the time), and I, among others, vigorously defended him. Over the last two years, he has proven his critics right, and his defenders, fools.

Shame on you.

I have a very hard time believing that it is KV. Having met him I know that he takes a lot of pride in having his name on his cues. To make an example of that he was talking about customers wanting cues faster than he can put them out the way he wants to. He told me that he would tell them that he didn't care how fast they wanted em because it was his name on the cue and it would be right the way he sees it.

If it takes him so long to turn down a shaft layer by layer he isn't going to turn it all down at one time just so someone can flip it faster because the flippers name isn't on that cue.

I don't know for sure whether you have seen the past threads about him doing the very same thing to others on this board - if you have not, then I understand you finding it hard to understand, especially after what he has told you.

To make an example of that he was talking about customers wanting cues faster than he can put them out the way he wants to.

I am a firm believer that it is not only him on this planet whose cues are in such a demand and for this very reason I can mention A LOT of other cue makers who will simply say NO to you, when you want something way before it's due and a customer wanting something ahead of its time is not an excuse for misrepresenting the waiting time - and this is definitely not the first time someone is told 'oh I have a free spot, WOW!' and then months of wait and lack of communication is the paying customer's lot.

Everyone is given a second chance and as far as I can remember KV had a long line of red boxes above his name and now it's all green again. He got what he wanted but posting here while leaving buyer(s) alone with their problem is something so insolent that it is just crazy.

Thank you all guys for your support.
I'm happy most of the az members focused on the message rather than the approach I used. I wanted to offer more to the community than just receive a cue or a refund..
For the people that disagreed with me, thank you as well if your intentions were other than defending on a ridiculous detail (the approach) a dishonest cuemaker. If for your own reasons you have defended a thief over the truth then you have showed your real face and you have lost more than you possibly imagine. You have damaged your reputation by taking sides with dishonesty and many people buying cues over here and in Europe got sick of your insults against the honest guy of the situation. This will add the worst of remarks to any future reference in you, damaging your deals. Hope Kevin will be at your side then, but don't bet on it...
Respectfully,
Petros

Thanks for the insight Newbie, I was just trying to help you Rocket Scientists see the light!!!!!:)

Don't get your panties in a knot I just know how much you hate scammers and love polls. Later Oldie.

Hey guys!
New thread "appropiate" for the wanted/for sale section!
Selling my post to Kevin Varney's j/b cue for 1$!
Thank you all for your time,
Petros

Believe it. If all the threads about his BS weren't locked you could read them yourself.

Someone please help me understand a few things.

1. How can it be KV if the OP stated that the cuemaker in question is a well respected ACA member?

2. If it is KV, how come every thread about him screwing over customers gets locked up or deleted? I mean: Is this guy paying off the owners so he can screw people over or what? Doesn't this site have an obligation to it's members to help us be protected from guys like him?

Someone please explain

Thanks,

DR 1
