TAR - Van Boening vs Frost

Dry Ice

It's rumored that when Frost was born he had no umbilical cord. In its place was Chuck Norris tethered to a Bar Box :rotflmao1:

On a 9ft table I would take Shane all day long, but the lil bar box seems to be a playground for Scott. I have to go with the local guy here, but this will not be a blow out either way.
I wonder how much will be bet on the rail on this one.

Shane

After talkin to Shane he seems pretty confident that he will win this one. It will be a good matchup but my action is on shane.

Yesterday at the DCT bar table 9-ball event it was a tale of two Scott's. He played his first match of the day and the opponent shot one time. Scott ran a 7-pack.

2 hours later a b-player beat him 7-2 to knock him out of the tourney in 3rd.

It was played on a 7 foot Valley. I have $50 on shane getting 10 on the wire. I am excited and hope Shane wins.

So much for the home time! :p I think this will be a great match and I obviously am rooting for Scott as I consider him a friend. The player that beat him was Frank Robutz aka Frank the Tank as I named him from the OTR stream. He is not a B player, he is an A player and got bumped at Kolbys and Main St. to a 10 and after this weekends meeting it is officially in the books. He is a very good player and even has ran a 6 pack at Hard Times, the best quality he possesses is he does not rattle and just plays his game no matter who he is playing.

.

Frank was listed as B player for the tourney and was raised to a 10 yesterday but now everyone is moved back down a number (effective Aug. 1) so he is still a 9. He played very well although in te finals he was up 5-3 and lost 13-5.

I am rooting for Shane because I think he is a really good guy.

We raised Frank at Kolbys about 2 months ago. I guess the DCT has its own rating ABC based on the AZ ratings but I am sure they will have Frank pay as an A next time. As for everyone getting lowered it is just a band aid for the real problem, rooms need to keep the in house roster up to date and not just keep people low so they can play in the 8 and unders and whatnot. I do hope they go over some of the list and move people where they really belong, I will be happy to be an 8 again where I belong.

Saturday and Sunday was the first time I had ever seen him play or even heard of him. He played very well and only made a couple of poor shots/safeties.

I will be happy to be a 7 again and it will be nice to play some different competition in the 8 and unders. I wish they lowered everybody 2 spots so I could go to a 6 where I belong :D

Lenny,
Is this the same Frank that tried to match up with me last time I was at Kolby's?? Man I knew he was a nine then but didnt think he played that sporty. I am betting on Scott on this one. He lays down more packages than an over worked mail man on a bar table.

Frank Robutz.....

I remember playing Frank in the end of year shootout in 1990. The tournament was held at The Golden 8Ball. Frank took 4th or 5th out of about 125 entries. The reason I remembe is that I kocked him out and ended up getting 3rd, losing to Terry Osborne. Terry ended up winning the whole thing.
This tournament sticks in my head because at the time it ws the biggest tournament I had entered and nobody really knew who I was. It put my name on the map in Arizona, at least until I quit playing for about 7 years due to marriage and life stuff.
Anyway, Frank Robutz was a very good player back then, not sure if he left Arizona for a while, but he is definitely as good as me if not a lil better. I'm rated 10 currently, so all 10's will soon be 9's and Frank should definitely be rated at least this good. Does anybody know if he just quit playing for a long time or if he was living in another state?

Is Frank kind of a heavy set dude who is originally from California? Ask him if he remembers Justin from Chalkies in Indianapolis. If it is the same dude he showed me a lot of things about pool and was a good friend I lost touch with and when the Frank Robutz I knew was in stroke no one had to like it.

Yes, that is the guy, he plays pretty good.
