I have used Glen's way alot its mainly 80% of what you do now but with a new twist and it works the results are alot better. By measuring and drawing a landmark or anchor line for the final streach makes a hugh difference in the tightness of the cloth. I have tried to modify it in different ways but find Glen has worked out the bugs and I feel it is the best way to install cloth better then anyone has taught me in 11 years.
Remember it's about consistinsy and it works,

After trying for two years or so, I finally got out with Glen to do a Diamond not too long ago. Some of the bugs that I had been trying to work out are now clear.
I've done the same thing on a couple of tables since then and got the same results.
I'm not one to get on anyone's bandwagon, and all of you know that, but consistency and proven ability are what's going to win out in this industy.
It's the only way to keep improving upon what's been done in the past all over the world.
No matter what table you are working on,you can glue down the bed, provided you have a good enough glue, which is hands down what Glen is using.
I tried a couple of others in the last few days, and they just do not hold up to the stretch.
I'm sold.
And now that I've finally seen how Glen's rails come out,and how, I've made a few changes on how I do those too.
Now if I can just figure out a way to improve upon Glen's work,I'll be happy.

I've got a good 26 years or so to find
something now that I feel like I've started completely over.lol
Go to Chicago-
Then the East coast, West Coast, North, South and Middle of the country will all have guys that are on the same page, and get ourselves together as a group.
The hacks will hate you,but the customers will love you for it.
I'm 8 more tables away from getting on the road to Illinois myself.
Love to see a bunch of us out there at once-
It's going to happen, might as well start doing it now!
