Perfect Aim Video and Lesson Phoenix

Sorry to hear. No I'm not in any of his business. Who rated him. I heard last night he was rated a 5. He's not that good but 5 sounds too low. Give me a call. 715-563-8712 or I'll be there at Sweet Tooth tomorrow night. I have lessons all day. My last one is in Mesa. Hopefully I can get there in time for the tournament. See ya then Geno............

I rated Mike McCune "5" a week ago today. I arrived at that rating by scoring Mr. McCune in 10 games of 8-Ball using a scoring system similar to Accu-Stats. Then I considered his stroke mechanics and other shooting characteristics and compared them to two different rating guideline charts, and by all three systems used, he came up at a 5 level.

If what I heard about Mr. McCune easily snapping off a 6-and-under tournament Saturday night is true, then that just goes to show you how anyone can cheat any system if they really want to. Either that, or I'm just a total rube.

The world is FULL of players 'laying down' Roger.... We all know it... no one is denigrating your knowledge.

Not your fault. I just didn't know how it worked. All you can do is rate what you see. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Have a great day..Geno

It is obvious the guy laid down, it is kind of sad really but you have to expect these things. I have been asked to rate people at Kolby's at times and usually you can trust someone to play their game and get the appropriate rating but it is a thankless task because if you under rate the player you get crap from people. One reason I am not into league pool among others is that people can sandbag. It was nice seeing you at Kolby's for the one pocket, perhaps when I drop my cue off to you sometime this week we can play some one pocket. ;)

It was an 8 and under, not a 6 and under!

I am not an instructor or anything but if that dude is a 5 then something is either seriously wrong with the ratings or Gene worked a miracle on that guy cuz he played really good. He did not snap it off easy cuz he got drilled in the finals but it has been reported that he dumped. That fat dude was stealing as a 5. Thank god I am leaving AZ and don't have to deal with spotting games to guys that could beat me straight up.

Justin - Are you talking about the Saturday 8 & Under tournament? Cause I think Jason is talking about the Sunday 6 & Under where he ran through everyone 6-0, 6-1, 6-0, 6-2 to get the hot seat. Having taken the lessons from Gene as well, the things this guy could do were not just learned in a few lessons. Playing perfect shape, 2 and 3 rail position, running the last 5, 6 and 7 balls consistently without getting out of line at all. A 5 rated player is 1 step above a beginner. A 6 is capable of running out a rack here and there, but more often makes 3-4 balls before getting too out of line.

Sorry to hi-jack Gene!

There were 2 or 3 other guys from Wisconsin there yesterday, and I didn't know they were friends with this guy. I believe this guy was probably more like a 7 or 8, ducking and hiding his true speed to knock off a tournament focused on the lower rated players. And there was definitely an agenda on how he got rated a 5 in the first place.

What Jason didnt tell you was that this same Fat dude got 2nd on the scotch on friday and then robbed the 8 and under on saturday but dumped in the finals I guess. Same guy but you don't have the whole story. Some pool scene guy you are. JK Jerry. the site looks nice by the way

perfect aim

I have received my copy of perfect aim today,im not sure gene but i think you said you where the one who come up with this way of sighting not aiming, well you might be the first one who has made of video or posted but there alot of guys that know about this some people might even do it and not realize it.

I think different aiming methods take different approaches from start to go,i also think some aiming methods work well on a bar table may not work so well on a big table.Over all you done a good job on your video and this will help alot of people .

I am just curious about the difference between a 5 and a 7 in the AZ ratings? Hard to imagine any 7 running through any 6and below event with ease.

Sounds like he didnt lay down if he was killing people. So he dumped the finals for what advantage -- $$ ?? Did he have the other guy in the calcutta and not himself. Hard to imagine myself in a tournament knowing that I am stealing and not taking myself in the calcutta.

Also can the director not make any adjustments to a newly rated player?

Sorry to hear that someone hustled the system if he did in fact hustle it.
No excuse for that but why would he bear down in a 6 and under event that he could continue to steal from of might get booted from during the event.

PS-- Just something I found funny... a few years back a couple buddies of mine came thorugh AZ playing. I happen to call when they were there and asked if they had anyone steering them. The reply was laughter and then I was told that they had this wierd handicap system and EVERYONE was rated. He said that they just looked it up or asked ratings and started on the low end moving up to the higher rated players.
I found it a bit odd about the handicapping but I also see ALOT of pool in AZ and that is great.
When I was there last week I could not believe the number of bars, pool rooms and dives that had pool advertised and were having tournaments.
Good tournaments at that.
Good luck with the AZ pool scene.... one of the best I have seen. Hopefully the players support the establishments.

not your fault roger or i would have contacted you after he snapped off an 8 and under in dominating fashion. we then raise him to a 6 and he destroys the 6 and under. i wasnt even worried about thesnapping off the tourny it was the dumping on the guy in the calcutta that pissed me off. we dont need people like this at stb tournys. i won hijack genes thread anymore if you want to know more i started a thread about this loser ;)

Mr 8pack, Your 100% right. Pretty much everyone aims this way naturally and that is why we have so many different skill levels. The people that do this better beat the people that don't do it so well. Not only that but I show on the video how to get the eyes in the right position on every shot. It doesn't matter what skill level you are at. You need to know how to fine tune your aiming. The players at the pro level are amazed because it gives them the ability to fine tune and be even more accurate. That's why Rodney Morris got so excited when I showed him. The players that are really struggling don't have the eyes lined up right at all. This is why they are rated so low. I give them alot of credit because they stick with the game they love regardless. I am getting calls and e-mails from players that are playing better than they have ever played in their life.
I just gave a lesson to a young lady named Heather Torpin from phoenix. In about a month she is going to Florida for a National Junior Tournament. Here's just some of what she had to say:This is going to help my game so much. Now I can see the shot instead of guessing my aiming point on the shot. I really can't believe how much simpler it makes the game seem. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to improve their game alot. I'm fascinated at shots I couldn't make before and now they're no problem. In just one hour this is going to change the way I play forever. I love it...... Now I know why everyone in Phoenix is so excited about PERFECT AIM. And now I am too.
This is what it is all about. Seeing that big smile and watching players making shots right away that they couldn't make before.
And no. In 15 years of showing this to players I have not ran into one player or teacher that understood what I was talking about when I tried to explain PERFECT AIM. Ask around. Your going to find out they don't even know which eye is doing the aiming. Even at the pro level. They just do it naturally. And that is why they sometimes naturally miss because they just didn't naturally do it right enough that time. This is why alot of players have trouble in a tournament or league play. They get a little excited and now don't get the eyes where they could see the shot. If you know where to get them you have something to focus on be more precise. There are so many excited player on our web site at www.perfectaimbilliards.com. This is what it is all about. Making the game better for everyone. Have a great pool day...Geno Call me at 715-563-8712
Don't assume your head is already in the correct position. Work on what I show you in the video. Move your head the way you need to. This is the part that eveyone needs to know to see the shots perfect.

I played Heather at Kolby's Sunday night in a 9 and under tournament, we were in the finals and it went hill-hill and I got lucky, she shoots very well and shows a ton of heart.

Did Heather tell you she just got her Perfect Aim lesson today at about 3:00. She is going to be the top woman player in Phoenix in the real near future. I showed her how to line up the eyes and I could just see how excited she was with what she was learning. Good luck in Florida. You go get'em girl.... Thanks for the line ............Geno............I'm off to Denver.

please take your protege mike mccuen or whatever the hell his name is with you. over the past few days he has pulled some of the weakest shit i have ever seen. not only did he lie about his rating to steal tournament money from honest people he pulled the ultimate douchebag move and dumped the finals and screwed people in the calcutta. i have heard nothing but good things about you gene and wish you all the best. and hope you are not in business with this fat P.O.S.. he isnt welcome here any longer. he is barred from ever playing at sweet tooth and will be soon barred from any tourny in which i know the director. like i said i do not wish this to reflect badly on you. unless you are in his weak ass hustle he tries to pull. i highly doubt that you are as you seem like a ok person. i am appalled by this obese loser stealing money from the people who should be playing for it. to keep this thread related everyone i have spoken too that has tried perfect aim has become a believer in it the same day. not one negative thing have i heard. that's pretty strong imo. have a great day sir

Gene knows how well Mccune plays. They are from the same area and worked at Charter communications together.

Jason Crugar,
Some of these questions would be best put in a PM to Geno.
As for rating somebody wrong, it's not the first time somebody has been laying down to get a low rating. In Tucson we had a Phoenix guy show up about 5 years ago to get rated. He played about 6 speed to get rated, which was setting up a series of shots then playing a few games before a tournament. His first couple opponents complained that he shot much better than 6 speed. So his next match, a couple of us watched. He was shooting around mid 8 speed from what I could see. The tournament director gave him an option, 1) take your entry fee back and we will let you play in future tournaments as an 8 or, 2) we just boot you from the tournament and 86 you for life. Not much of a choice but he got the point. He was sandbagging and got caught. We found out later that he was using a different name and in fact was rated 8 under the Arizona system.

Yeah, I think we all have a story or two like this one. That's why I'm really glad that we have all this technology now. If you get players like this in the future, feel free to send a picture of them to me and I'll post it up on my site. Would be no problem to start a Dirt-bag section. With maybe a subsection for players that like to shoot air-barrels.
