i sold my 9' gold crown about 7 months ago and have since been suffering dreaded, POOL PLAYER WITHDRAWALS. i then found a $100 Brunswick Ventura II pro table on craigslist. i couldn't "just say, "no", so i said "YES!" and gave them my money. the next day i showed in my 62, Chevy 3/4 and we loaded it up. the only thing wrong with it is it's missing the side pockets and has cosmetic "issues" from being in a fool hall all its life. so i got it home and got frustrated trying to get the slate level. as most of us know, a pool table MUST HAVE center supports for the slate or it will bow in the middle causing the balls to run to the center of the table. when i first encountered this problem i was dumbfounded.
so i made some center supports which i shimmed. i could then use the slate screws as levelers. FINALLY, i got it level! the table is as good as its going to get and should play just fine.
the leather pockets that i bought on ebay look nice and match the burgundy wood stain but the metal prongs are slightly more narrow than the orig brunswick pockets. after some fiddling i now know that i can get them to work.
now just one more trip to the hardware store for 8 measly bolts, and i'll finish this table and be able to break my first rack of 14.1. it's 100 balls or bust.....
