Cuetec has been sponsoring the WPBA, Allison Fisher and Earl Strickland for many years, and as most of us know by now, they have just signed Shane Van Boening.

I heard through the grapevine that Cuetec is different from other big companies, simply because they actually pays money to the players and tournaments that they are in partnership with, and not just providing them some free stuff.

I have never been a fan of Cuetec myself, but since there excist a company that has a proven record of helping professional players, I decided to send them an email today, thanking them for what they are doing.

In the email I also told them that I would buy some products from them, even though I don't like them, simply because they support some of our pros and the worlds most successful tour, WPBA.

Now I am just hoping that it is possible to use one of my OB-1 shafts on a Cuetec Cue, or else I will have to buy some other products from them and not a cue. I can't quit playing with my OB-1... www.obcues.com

Anyway, the purpose of this thread is to encourage you fellow pool-lovers to visit Cuetec's website, www.cuetec.com, look around, shop if you find something you like, and most important, either you shop or not, write them an email and thank them, then tell them that you hope they support our pros and events for many years to come.

Can we tell them that we don't like them but still support them?

I did :D

I said something like "even though I am not a fan of your products I will buy from you simply because you support our pros and events"

No need to lie :D

I don't think your OB shaft will fit the cuetec as they have a special thread not your average or standard thread.

After going to their booth at the BCA tradeshow this year and talking to Tim Padgett I was very impressed with them, They have a good biz plan and moving foward in a good way, contrary to what alot of poeple think they really are on their game good. Their marketing in the past and products have been questionable, but they have learned from their mistakes-that was clear. I see a good future for them.

Sorry for mis-spelling your name Tim, If you read this:smile:

my pred. is 10 years old , shaft has had couple of ferrules and it is down to 12 mm. with that being said and after watching tar this weekend i'v been thinking about something new for the bag. the ob2 sounds good and they have a nice deal. but after watching shane i shopped around online looking at the r360. they don't make shafts to fit all cues appearently. proboly on purpose, but the thread size is 3/8 x 14.
i may just buy a stick from pooldawg for 240 free shipping free soft case. not bad to have what shane is usin. anyone got a better deal on a r360
out there ?

Which of the products that you don't like, will you be buying:confused:

Roy you could also buy a Cuetec Bowtie. It really is a well thought out tip tool that does most everthing you might need to do tipwise.

If would be even better if everybody would give them suggestions on what products you would be interested in.

Maybe it would REALLY help them to tell them WHY you don't like their cues? YOu don't like the feel? Don't like the designs? Don't like the ugly ass stickers all over it?

If they got proper feedback from good players then maybe they could build something that you might like.

Having said that who has tried the new R-360 shaft that Shane likes so much? I haven't. I can tell you that Cuetec is ALWAYS trying to improve their products and would welcome any and all feedback.

I'm kind of curious about the cuetec break cue SVB was using...especially now with the BCA banning phenolic break cues. Announcers said it had a leather tip, but didn't give details beyond that. Anybody know more?

If you buy a cue from them you had better also by your OB-1 or Predator shaft from them. The Pin they use is different than anything anyone else uses in the industry. That way you can have them tap the shaft for their pin.

Roy, you are better man than me I could not bring myself to promote an item I would never use. I agree that it is good that they support the Tour, but lets not confuse the subject for the readers. The cues the pro's are using do not in any way really resemble or play like the cues Cuetec makes for the generally public.

Good Luck with your purchase Roy

Where do you get your information from?

If SVB qualifies as a Pro in your mind, then you need to retract and apologize for your statement made with no backing. It really is damaging when people spout off without having any real information.

I looked at SVB's cue today - straight out of the plastic wrapper that Cuetech sent it to him in. $150 cue with stickers on it. R-360 shaft. His break cue - not sure what it is called - was quite heavy but if you had spent the $25 to watch the TAR PPV you would have seen quite effective. You also would have heard that again - SVB cue is just like any other Cuetech production cue.

Don't sweat it Watchez - I've read/heard for years how professional golfers don't play "regular production" sticks - especially the driver. That's not entirely correct. The difference between MOST PGA players drivers and someone who buys theirs at Dick's Sporting Goods or Golf Galaxy, or whereever is: the tour vans build the clubs per the specs needed via a launch monitor fitting. They also make sure of loft and lie a each head (since manufacturing tolerences aren't perfectly exact). Pros also have shafts that are "tuned" to what they want out of them - launch, spin rate, etc. Check out eBay for "TOUR VAN" or "TOUR ONLY" clubs. They get $$$$ out of folks thinking that think they are manufactured in some special way with fairy/pixie dust and 30 more yards built in....

I can get any shaft being used on tour (though some are crazy pricey), and use a desired loft (even tweek the loft if I need to) driver head and get the exact same results of a "tour van" driver.

My guess is they gave Shane a couple dozen options (made in the same place the ones you and I can buy), and he tried a number of combinations until he found one he really liked....easy enough.

A month or so ago I asked Allison flat out if Cuetec EVER made anything special for her. She said that the only thing that they did at her request was to make the cue an inch shorter that she plays with - then they went on to make a LINE of Allison Fisher cues that are all an inch shorter.

I said do they make special shafts for you? She said all they do is send her a bunch of standard shafts and she picks the ones she likes.

As far as I know Allison is playing right now with a stock (possibly only the tip has been changed) R-360 shaft.

Yes that is true in golf ----but for SVB, they sent him 12 cues to choose from. The same scenario that JB is describing as they did for Allison. This is what I have been told as a FACT. Not someone's guess like Manwon.
