hahaha! I think they mean the back hand.
That makes even less sense.

scott i dont think anyone invented it, and it is the finishing point of the thumb and index finger after hitting the cueball, these to fingers control the shot (steering wheel) other 3 are ur power (engine), i was wondering why its not taught more the importance of this, and shawn no there is no catch, and you obviously dont play to a high level or you would understand what this is and does...
people on here always knocking people makes me laugh thought we was here to share and help people.
And you're a self serving, arrogant ass-clown. Seriously, the comment about you being the "most natural player potter in the world" on your YouTube profile is absolutely hilarious.
So, Sherlock, if I subscribe to Hal Mix's theory regarding the grip, being that the index finger isn't even on the cue, I guess I'm robbing myself of something? It seems to have worked well for Nick Varner.
Lee,
I'm always interested in learning more about pool. Are you able to give a good description of the V System over the Internet? Or is that something that you only teach in person?
I've read somewhere that snooker players when stroking like to use their thumb and index finger to bring the cue backand simulataneously relaxing the second and third fingers and the pinky as we call it doesn't touch anything.
I think Lee Brett probably plays better than most any AZBer, including me.
Thanks,
JoeyA (will take a ball or two in one pocket)
Well, they're both Canuckians, thats how we talk to each other. Just different terms of endearment toward our fellow man. You should see what happens when we get mad for real.Tough crowd around here, huh?
Just saying.... a few might want to do a little editing.![]()
Do any of the coaches or anyone else on here know what the "v" is and how
this controls all of your shots and the better you understand this the better player you will become.
lee brett
Lee, you should definitely release a video that includes your aiming system, elbow drop, the V, etc. I know that some of us are very interested in what you have to offer. I for one would take a lesson but that is just not feasible ( From Canada ), so a DVD is the next best thing. Look at what Gene ( Genomachino ) has done with his Perfect Aim DVD. He put a pretty large price tag on ( 15min of info ) his DVD and has sold almost a thousand, his profit looks niceDefinitely release one, I'll buy it.
shawn, the videos on you tube want done by me or put on and the comments wasnt mine just someone else's opinion not mine, your an arrogant clueless idiot and i would love you to come and say that to my face, and see how far you get, id also like to see you get a 20 break never mine a 147 no wonder u cant play stuck in ur clueless world slagging others when u know f u c k all
This kind of thing is why I walked away from the Pool scene. Way too much anger and woofing. And ShootingArts, you're right about learning from other diciplines. Where do I go for coaching? The coaches on this site and others who coach pool. I learned a little from you yesterday and sent it to a friend struggling at trap shooting.Hopefully he decides otherwise but perhaps people more eager to find an argument than learn have just cut the forum off from one more good source of information.
I have approached Lee privately and found him to be very open and friendly. He freely shared the information I asked about and told me to feel free to ask anything else I wanted to know.
Folks this may be hard to believe but the sum of all knowledge is not contained on AZB. We can learn from snooker players, 3C players, and maybe the butcher, baker, and candlestick maker.
Lee, I'll be keeping an eye out for whatever you market. My high run fell 19 points shy of maximum and you have ran ten maximums. As it happens I was just explaining to someone today exactly what it takes to run a 147. Most pool players don't have a clue.
Do let me know when and where you are going to be in the US please.

Guess I shouldn't get upset. I realize I don't know everything anymore. There was a time that I did I assure you.
Hey Lee, There's an IGNORE option here that if activated will not show you posters you don't want to see.
I have found that good information can come from all of the usual places but also some highly unusual ones too. We have to leave ourselves open to be able to learn though. A bird with a brain about the size of a pea taught me something that makes me a better pool player.

Many of my articles, videos, and illustrations dealing with the 30-degree rule can be found here:I believe I read some articles by Dr Dave regarding the "V".
Scott, lee brett...If you're talking about the fact that a rolling CB (for most cut shots) leaves the contact angle at 30 degrees (vs. 90 degrees, for a sliding CB), than yes, I've known that for decades (it's not new). I taught/teach it the same way dave describes it...using a "peace sign", with your first two fingers. Dr. Dave pointed it out, on his site, but certainly didn't 'invent' the concept (and I don't think he says he did either). He certainly made lots of poolplayers more aware of the "30 degree rule".
