Ball Cleaning Machines

Hi All:

I reserached this forum and found some threads on home made machines. I followed the instructions for the bucket one that uses a orbital buffer with carpet. I'm using Aramith Billiard Ball Cleaner.

Mine leaves tiny spots on the balls. I guess this is because the balls touch each other during the spinning. Seems the Diamond Pro Ball Polisher is the way to go, but $700 + shipping?

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks!

Buy the home version for $450, it has a single platter and works great:grin:

Do you have some carpet or a towel or something along the inner side of the bucket? I have a home made polisher like you are talking about and I have no issues like you are describing. I'm just wondering if you have something that will keep the balls from rubbing up against the plastic wall of the bucket?

I have the home made bucket polisher as well and have no issue with spots.

I installed carpeting around the inner periphery of the bucket and also installed a carpeted 1x2 piece of wood across the center. I clean 4 balls on each side of the 1x2 separater for a total of 8 balls at once. Haven't noticed any spots after cleaning. You may want to add a separater and see if that helps. It's a very easy thing to do. Hope this helps you.

I dont have a clue about the machines that you mentioned. Don't take this wrong way please, but what do you need a machine for if your at home. A rag, aramith ball cleaner and about 10 minutes is all you need.

Think you should draw up the plans, and sell em for you do it yourself ball cleaner.

I use a Rag, and Polish from Mueller, works just fine, and is quality time with my BALLS....:wink:

I can't stop laughin man :rotflmao1::rotflmao1::yeah::yeah:

ps: not a good visual :rotflmao1:

There's a product called Brillianize, a plastic cleaner/polish, that does a better job than anything else I"ve tried. I use it in my bucket polisher or by hand and get great results.

I too made my ball polisher following instructions found in this forum. What I did was take some heavy cardboard & wedge 2 pcs. inside the top of the bucket to form an "X".
This allows me to polish 4 balls at a time & they don't touch each other. Works great & cheap too.

Hey KTM, I clean the balls first and then polish in my machine. Otherwise you have cleaner and polisher in the bucket. I use a Mr. clean pad to clean em' and Mothers to polish em". I also found that you can put to much wax on the balls. Stuff won't polish up till its dry.
