JossWest 1973 Louie Roberts Cue- Pictures

Just thought I'd share my new cue with the JossWest fans out there. It belonged to Louie Roberts at one time. He lost it in a gambling jag and loved the cue so much he tried to get it back 4 or 5 times.
It's a player that's for sure. Solid as can be. Still getting used to the Triangle Tip, I'm so used to the Wizard Mediums.

This was in fact Louie's cue. My friend has a picture hanging up in his pool room of Louie playing with this exact cue. Probably the only steel joint that Louie played with.

Joss gave Louie this cue and he played one tournament with it - well, actually two but the second tournament he only used it as a break cue. Bob Meucci got ahold of Louie and 'forced' him to go back to playing with a Meucci.

(JAM - I hope you are not offended that I posted this info given to me by Louie's best friend)

Woody...I've told the story here more than a few times. I'm in a very exclusive club...people who actually GOT the $$$ from Keith, instead of the other way around! I'll tell you this...it was getting (what I thought was) a huge spot (last 3 and the snap), for $300/game. A couple B&R's, early 9's, and one on the break, and Keith had had enough. He pulled out a BR that could choke an elephant (HAD to be $15K-$20K), counted out 18 bennies on the rail, picked up his cue, and walked away! LOL He had been beating EVERYONE to death in the green room, at the hotel. Like Efren says..."I got lucky!" ...and NO Keith, I don't want the same game now! Keith was 17 at the time, and a monster player even then! Who knows, he might have dumped in the tournament, to get action going! He played a bunch of people at the hotel, and to my knowledge, I'm the only one who 'got away'! LMAO

You cant throw out a teaser like that and not tell the whole story :mad::mad::grin:

Thanks Scott. Keith is one of my favorite players and I only wish I could read more stories about him. I really wish I could hear more stories FROM him :)

There you have it folks...THE REST OF THE STORY...[/B] and this is from a gentleman that knows what he is talking about!! This is a great piece of pool history.

Today was my first real day playing with the cue. At first I was uncertain if I liked the feel of it, then it clicked and I couldn't miss. After about 2 hours of play I was locked in. A great cue makes you feel confident and that's how I feel right now. What a gem. I'm psyched.

I would also love to have a copy of this picture. Is it really life sized??

That is now 3 people wanting this pic - I think I have now found a way to retire early.

Let me see what I can do fellas. There are some great pics of Louie at my friend's room.

And if you had ever met Louie, you would know that he was bigger than life.
