Gambling table time-who pays?

In general who pays? Is that figured about before hand?

In an unusually long match like Morra-Oscar race to 100 - how was that handled? We spoke of table winning on day 1-how does the room owner do?

Does the room take the gate and concessions and eat the table time?

Probably a dumb question

usually unless it's discussed beforehand, it's an even split. the winner might pay if hes up a bit but thats just his own decision. unless discussed otherwise, it's an even split.

for a long match like the morra-oscar race i'd just assume the venue gives up the table for free since they're getting so many people coming in to watch and buying stuff. plus i think there's an admission fee to the whole event which the owners probably get a bit of.

i know there was a race to 21 for 1.5k here a little while ago and the owner just let them play on it for free cuz it brought people into the pool room.
 
Everyone has their own set of right and wrong AFTER the match is done. I know players that refuse to pick up the time because of the precedent it sets. Others will pick up the time even if it means they are a loser financially then. Legally for me, each players owes their own time regardless of any agreement they have. I cannot MAKE someone pay the other persons time.
 
Loser should pay for everything. Why should winner spend a dime is beyond me. It's a money match, not a charity contest.

Depends on the money bet, table played on, and whether the room is involved. If you're playing on a bar box, for a good size bet, generally the guys will put the same amout of quarters down and use them. If it's a time table, and you win a couple hundred or more, and the time is 10 or $15, you should pay it, unless the guy is just a total a$$.

If it was my room, and there was a big money game going, and it kept people around watching, eating and drinking, I donate the table time to keep the action coming back.
 
I usually always pay time if I am winner, even if it eats up all the winnings here at home. If I am on business and beat someone out of what might be double the time I go ahead and offer to pay, if I only win a small amount I just assume they have their end. Also, when I am traveling and I book a loser I always just take care of my end, regardless of the amount I donated, unless the winner offers to pay all the time.

Winner should pay, it's the gentlemen thing to do....
Unless the table time is more than the winnings than it should be split.
