Diamonizing a Gold Crown 3, you get what you pay for!

Did the retirement center replace these tables with Diamonds, or are they just being fixed up and re-intalled? Just curious because 4 1/4" pockets with deep shelves makes for pretty tough playing conditions. Most of the tables at my mom's retirement community play pretty easy.

They must have some serious players there, at least on the committee that makes these decisions.

Do you know what the standard size pocket openings are on Brunswick's?

I have Brunswick 9' Montebello that I had reclothed about a year ago.
I just measured the pockets. Corners are 4 3/4" & sides 4 5/8".
I think I had the guy who did it put on thicker facings.
Just wondering where those numbers stand in tightness per the industry.

The black powder coated castings and feet..

The black powder coated castings and feet are unbelievable seen live. Glen did my table before this one and I now regret not doing the castings and feet even though he recommended it. He said I can just do the castings now but I wouldn't want it without the feet too and I don't want to go through the leveling process again. The table plays as good as it looks...perfect. There's nothing more to say about it. He truly loves what he does and it's obvious.

Those are pretty standard pocket sizes.

Once you get to 4-1/2" corners you are getting tight. Personally I don't like playing rotation games on much tighter than 4-3/8". But for games like 1 hole, you can go down to 4" pockets.

I know in the 10-ball match between Oscar and Morra they playied on 4" pockets and no one was having any fun. I thought it was completely boring to watch pro's have to concentrate so hard on every single straight in shot, and having to give up potential shape because the ball would jaw out.

Ernesto aint got nothing on you. Killer job!! I miss the same tight tables at Family in SF :sorry:

What is the best price I can get you to install a 9' diamond at my house in NorthWest Phoenix?

I know a few people that are looking to get work done by you in the coming months.

Jerry,

you should have snagged the new (used) one RKC was selling here delivered and set up a couple of months ago!! I bet he has a line on some he could bring out next trip!!

As to the list of work Glen could have here, I'm sure it is only limited by his time available and choice of whom he wants to work with.

Hey Glen...................It's getting REALLY nice here in AZ right now!!!! Highs in the mid 80's............ you could stay a while!!

Yeah, I wasn't ready for it then. I just moved into my new house last week and I have this huge empty space that would love to be filled with a 9' Diamond. (I have a 8' Brunswick that I might be forced to setup in the meantime with normal size pockets, ugh! DONATION NEEDED!!!! LOL)

I'm not a mechanic but those measurements seem odd to me. Not sure about the factory settings for the pockets on your table but what I find weird is the measurements of the sides relative to the corners. My understanding is the standard is the side pockets are 1/2" larger than the corners, whatever measurements you use. So essentially you choose what you want the corners to be and the sides get cut a half inch bigger. In your case the side pockets are actually smaller than the corners.

Do you sell these black pocket castings? If so, how much? I have a gold crown III and think they would look awesome on my table. And some pro cut pockets :)

Just take them to a local powder coater. Cost is in the area of $100 - $150 for all six castings (depending on where you live).

Love the powder coated castings. Is it possible to do the trim strips around the edges of the table too?

No reason why they couldn't be powder coated I suppose. But depending on the table, I've heard some can be tricky to get off and back on without damage.

The side pockets are suppose to be 1/2" bigger than the corner pockets:wink:
