Looks like an 18 oz bocote ( maple plugged ).
Ed must be an elbow-dropper.
Bocote and maple make for a good combo.
I like the figuring on that bocote and it's still straight grain.

My varney cue!
Thats what the subject says , and I would first like to say that I am sorry about what some AZ'ERS went through or problems they had with Mr.Varney . But I contacted hin before I was ever a AZ member about a cue, told him what I wanted and he said he was really behind and could not give me a date for the cue to be done, but he still took all my info. All the positive and negative threads and post I read about him ,I still liked the way his cue's looked and heard and read they played well also, so thats why I orderd one. Well wait a minute I didn't really order one I gave him my info on what I wanted ,but I never thought he was even starting on it cause he asked for no deposite, all I said to him was do to my health reasons I may not be able to be on a long waiting list do to my illness I do not no how long I will be able to play or even be alive. But time went on and I never thought anything and Mr. VARNEY e-mailed me and sent pictures and said he has something for me and said it's ready if I want it , made to what I asked for. He also said if I don't want it , that is ok. For me Kevin did me a favor, I don't know others situation , but this is mine. All I can say is thanks Kevin for makeing me this cue, it looks as good as I thought it would, I didn't really get to play with it alot yet do to Im partial to my main player Im used to. But Im just glad to have one. So for people who ask why I bought a VARNEY this is why. He treated me good and Im sorry for others that may have had a bad experience. Everyone deserve's a chance to redeem their selves for bad choices. But Kevin gave me his word he will stand behind his cue's , so I gave him a chance. thats all <<<ED

Ed, I wish you well and I hope if it is possible that your health improves. But, a single good deed doesn't resolve the MULTIPLE issues that have occurred. I hope you understand that your support will bait the trap for others, I do not think you understand the History that this gentleman has had on this forum. He has proven time and time again that his word is worthless, which only shows that one of two things have happened. The cue you received was most likely built for some one else who is still waiting or it was a canceled order.
I personally wish you well Ed, and I truly hope your health improves.

How A$$ backwards is that. you don't leave a deposit and months later you get a cue. other people leave a deposit and months later get nothing! it's a crazy world i tell you
YOU KNOW WHAT ! THIS CUE WAS MADE TO THE WAY I WANTED IT, AND THE WOOD I ASKED FOR , SO HOW WOULD ANY OF YOU KNOW THAT IT WAS MADE FOR SOMEONE ELSE ? And besides what do I care , I got my cue and it's made out of what I wanted it to be. It may not have all the specs I would have listed but I thought he would have got back to me when it came time to make the cue, but it was the way he made the cue. And hell don't worry about my deposit ! Hell maybe I didn't even have to pay for the cue !!:grin: Thanks kevin ,, I appreciate it, I don't condon any wrong doing or anyone ripping anyone off, I know I would be pissed if it happened to me. But a had a couple emails and pm's from people asking why I got a VARNEY so I just wanted to say why. Ed, again I wish you well with you health and my comments are not designed to be offensive to you. But, threads like this will help put other members in jeopardy, they will think well maybe he has changed his ways, just like the last time, and the time before that, and the time before that, and on and on.
Look I am glad you got a cue, but that does not change the fact that many others have waited YEAR'S!!!!!
The message should be clear, if anyone deals with Mr. Varney it is a Crap Shoot so make your decision and realize your chances of getting screwed are 50 / 50 just like a roll of the dice.

I am not on his "nuthugger" list (as some state). I do not have a cue on order from him. I have had a few conversations with him though, and again he has been nothing but upfront about his wait, techniques and payments. I understand what he has done to others, and that deserves to be brought out. But not in this thread. Leave your sh!t at the door and start your own thread.

Well I learned alot of things from this site, and the thing on here that occurs the most is jealous members that are thread highjackers, just to piss in someone else's cheerio's every morning !! nuff said just let this thread end here, no more post , comments anything, else. Im sorry Kevin, you did me a favor and all I did was state it on here then they even have to bash you on the makeing of my cue. Once again I don't know Kevin personally and I dont know everything that supposedly happened before ,but he did do me a favor and that all I said. It's funny how alot of these bashers don't post up near as many finished cue's in the gallery as I seen of Kevins work, and at one time on here in the past Varney cue's were the talk and shit all over the AZ threads and not bad talk either.
