Rodneys cue has a black ferrule?

I was just watching Mr Morris warm up and his playing cue has a black ferrule? I have tried those but it was somewhat distracting to me?

anyway....Corey and Rodney in the box!......9pm...US Open.....be there!

I was hoping someone would say something about Rodneys cue. He just got that cue. I will let people guess a while before i tell who built it. Also the black ferrule is not a man made material.
 
I've been gone for over a year. It sure is great to be back reading about such exciting topics as the tip of Rodney's wick. :)

Geez, c'mon man! I just hate it when people on this forum knows something and won't divulge it right away. Dude, I got things to do, pool to shoot, bills to pay, supper to cook, lawns to mow, etc. I ain't got time to keep comin' back to this thread so I can see who made Rodney's cue. If you REALLY know who made it, for cryin' out loud tell us NOW!!!

Steve Hebert of Abear Custom Cues. Some people know him and some don"t. He is in the Blue Book of Cues. He told me he was making a cue for Rodney and he was going to play with it this week.

No, it's made from a sliver of Kevin Trudeau's heart muscle, pickled and then dried in a vacuum kiln. Of course the technology to make the ferrule was the easy bit, the really tricky part was finding it in the first place.
 
I heard it was made from a piece of LAVA flow coming out of Kilawea volcano on Mauie in the islands.....ONLY hawaiian royalty can visit this area and you CANNOT take any of the lava rocks home with you or you gat a nasty curse on your cue.






but Rodney is immune to the curse, he comes from the island royalty....

Ryan he is building cues again. He is living in Oregon i just talked to him last week. He has several sneaky just about ready. He built Rodney Morris the cue he played with in the U.S. Open. I do know it had a Water Buffalo ferrule.

I heard that the inventors of the Milk Dud tip made this ferrule especially for Rodney using Michael Jackson's original nose. Just what I heard. :)
