what would you charge?

I would get that cue made by someone, and there is no reason that it should be more than $500 from a good cue maker. You have to remember that the whole taper of a cue matters, thats why I don't necessarily think that switching shafts is always a great idea, tapers can clash. You could take a wonderful hitting cue and put a predator or an ob1 on it and play like a dog, and vice versa. My favorite cues always carry the taper through the shaft and butt.

That's my favorite Viking, and a solid runner for my favorite production cue ever.

I would charge $400.00 shipped with 1 shaft! Joe that is a great price you posted up here! It was a pleasure talking with you th other day! Thanks for the call!

Keep in mind that alves has very irregular figure, so you never really know what your going to get until it's close to done. I like it a lot, but the one pictured is very tame. At $250, it's hardly worth a CM's time to make it... you should snatch that up before he changes his mind.

Am I correct that we are talking about a plain cue with a goncalo alves forearm and butt sleeve, no rings, no inlays or anything and a white with black spec Irish linen wrap??? If that is the cue I will build that cue for $250. And here is my cue price directly from my web site.. http://jbakercustomcues.com/pricing.aspx

If you can build this cue at this price, then you should be a VERY busy guy. That's an awesome deal.

There's a problem with building cues at 'give away' prices.
After a while you become known for building low-end cues and won't be able to migrate out of that perception. Case in point; Viking will never be looked upon as being in the same class as Schon or Pechauer.
I know what it takes to build 'that' cue and I won't, not at that price anyway. I like to make a buck every once in a while and not just break even.
