This seems a little bit outrageous... all of it.

I've read her posts and i'm wondering, what exactly has she said that p'd off everyone? ( OMGWTF in particular, I wanna know why you're so into this )

She wants some of the pie too. Can't sit there and let Mary take it all.

Women are just like that...when another woman gets some attention, the other women have to try and beat them down

Damn sister! You got 'em, and they're huge. We'll have to wait and see if Mary

;)

That's a strong offer OMG! And there'd be no better opportunity for Mary to take the next step into serious pool IMO. With some backing and a little time away from sunny so cal, Mary could possibly do this trip on OPM (Other People's Money), have a great experience, and possibly return with some jingle in the purse.

I'd seriously recommend to Mary she look at this offer as far more than a challenge match. If I had the chance to get backed like this, I'd:

Hey omg, if I don a

Can I get some too? I'm being total serial. :)

Mary, you say you're not a pro... and that's great! Why? Because I'm not a pro, either!

I highly doubt TAR would ever come out to cover our little shindig because the costs involved would be too high. Since TAR cannot come to us, I propose we go to TAR.

I propose (since you seem to have no opinion on this matter) we play three sets (8-ball, 9-ball, and 10-ball) at the Derby City Classic for a minimum of $1,000 per set. These sets will, of course, be played on a 9ft Diamond table (your best friend and mine as well).

I think it is well-known by now that I prefer the barbox, but, as it says on your site, that you have already "mastered the little bar tables", I would not dream of insulting you by asking you to play on a messy and non cool 7ft, Mary "David Matlock" Avina.

The benefits of playing at the Derby City Classic, I believe, are as follows:

- You have ample time to get your backers together.
Note that you have (at the time of this writing) 11 people who think you will win. Ask them to chip in $300 or so apiece and you got action. In addition, I am highly unpopular in the Southern California area. I guarantee you, if you do a little trick-or-treating and knocking on doors, you will find backers.

- You have time to practice.
DCC is not until January of 2010.

- You, will, like, totally get to meet Chris Bartram!
Omg omg omg!! He's, like, SOOOO awesome! He, like, totally gives the Jonas Brothers the 7 and he's waaaay hotter than Edward Cullen.

- You will get a lot of male attention at DCC.
Seriously, you will enjoy the guy-to-gal ratio.

- Indiana is lovely at that time of year.
I read this in a brochure.

- You will get a lot of publicity.
You like this and it will benefit your art sales, as you lead me to understand those are the main focus of your website, your photos, your videos, and your posts.

- Ronnie Wiseman will probably say something incredulous and funny regarding the two of us playing for the price of a Yugo.
This will amuse many serious pool players.

I think a TAR Challenge Match backed entirely by AZB forum members would be something to see. Anyone else think so? I am willing to be backed for this match by AZB members. This will take my game down a ball or two since I play best on my own money, but if you're willing to risk it, let me know.

P.S.
YES THIS ENTIRE THREAD IS ABOUT JEALOUSY (AND ACTION).
I AM SO JEALOUS OF MARY "DAVID MATLOCK" AVINA YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

Now, if you please, the line for those backing Mary "David Matlock" Avina forms to the left.
Thank you.

From what I've been able to gather so far, Mary was quite rude and arrogant towards OMGWTF and some other ladies that have stepped forward since this has all come about. Mary has also, in a round about way, confessed that she probably wasn't very nice to the ladies.

Given the circumstances, I can see why OMGWTF is interested in this. Mary was quite arrogant towards her and then came on here and basically continued the arrogance. OMGWTF simply asked her to put her money where her mouth is.

Some guys are quick to point out that this is jealousy. I've got 3 sisters so I have an idea of what women are like and its not always jealousy. Some people (men & women) simply don't like other peoples attitudes. In women they call it jealousy, in men they call it testosterone. In the end, its all the same, just a different sex. (JMO)

I see..

I read through that link that was posted. Yes some of it comes across as cocky but to be settin up a TAR match over it??

eh....

EDIT: If she was an ahole in person to OMGWTF then I can understand.. but just over the enet then it's a little over the top.

But that's just a subjective opinion. Personally, let the match happen.

I dont think it was about you. I think it was about how mary gushes over you.

And FTR I dont think omg is jeaolous neither is anybody else for that matter. If someone came to your poolhall and woofed at you the way mary did, someone would have to step up and play. Simple as that.

OMGWTF shut it down with that last post, it's over, toss in the white towel...TKO. I always laugh when instead of using a screen name like 'Mary Avina' they feel like they need to idolize themself as 'MaryAvina.Com'....on to the next one OMGWTF or do the floggings gotta continue as you like to say?

i thought they all did?
just playing.

why not just play a match and shut the **** up???? doesnt need to be for any more than Dinner at some neighborhood stakehouse.

this trash talking over the internet pool forum is retarded.

whats all this talk about backers???? my number one rule about gambling is to do it with your own money. Its less hassle and the glorys will end up all yours.

having a backer is nonsensical.

Many of the best players in the world have backers. It's been a fabric of gambling forever. Just sayin'.

This is bigger than a steak dinner! It's Gargantuan!

Yea, I kinda agree on that. When I was playing for alot of money, I always payed out of my pocket...but the most I ever gambled on was like 3500 on a race to 21. If I cant pay my own way, I dont need to play. And, If I win, I dont want to share my money with the person backing me. Never had a problem with money so I have never needed a backer.

I did have a cpl people that did want to back me, but I just didnt take them up on it. But, someone who is less fortunate to have the money but is a gifted player might need a backer...so that I do understand....

I am definately not scared to lose my money, I just dont want to lose someone elses money, I guess that was always my problem and thats why I never asked anyone to back me....if that makes any sence..

and yea, all this junk talk is senseless to me, either play, or shut the hell up...period

if someone smack talked me like this, i would just tell them no. but thats just me

OMGWTF!!! :D

I'll play you some sets at Derby if you give serious weight. I can't play good at someone that woof that well! :D

Backing for Mary?

I'd assume Mary is checking with her backers while mulling over how to respond.

omgwtf says she willing to have backing and I imagine with her standing and track record here, she'll get it.

But what about Mary? Chi2dxa said he's got some $ confidence in her. Anyone else have ideas or $ to get Mary in a better position to jaunt to the DCC and tangle?

Maybe if there's a show of support here, she'll be more likely to commit.
