I brought this up yesterday too - I am confused and obviously don't know how our judicial system works. I thought once you plead guilty and agreed to a sentence, you had to serve your time immediately. I wouldn't think there was anymore of a grace period, or whatever you want to call it.
If you can get the word to him. Tell him I'll play him $1000 or $2000 heads up tourney on Stars.
Tony said he would play this way. Both of you would post up 5 dimes each. He would preferably like to play 10 and 20 pot limit Omaha, but he said he would play for 5 and 10, freezing up 5 dimes, and somebody has to win the money. No quitting.

Part of Chohans plea agreement was probably that he was given time to get his affairs in order after being sentenced but before he actually had to report to prison. This is a common request by defendants who enter into plea agreements. The Court will usually require substantial bond be put up and there are huge penalties for no showing to prison. If the defendant fails to show the plea of guilty stands but the sentence is wide open, up to the max allowed. In Chohans case I thought the max sentence was something like 40 years or something, maybe more. No showing would be ridiculous, he would be eligible for the equivalent of a life sentence vs the 5-7 years stated before.
Makes sense. He must really love pool because if I had limited time before my freedom ended for 5-7 years, a pool room would be the last place I would be.

I'm sure he is simply trying to scrape up all the dough he can to leave with his family. It is really his only option. Go to prison busted and leave his family broke, or try and make a few last minute scores and leave for prison knowing they have a few dimes.
There is money in pool??
I don't play PLO that much. In order for us to freeze up 5 dimes on Pokerstars, it would have to be in a heads up tourney format, otherwise we could just sit in a heads up 5/10 or 10/20 room. I'm all for doing it in hold em'.
I'll let him know.
WTF. How long are they going to keep fake beating in pool. When are they going to man up instead of making fake games. There ruining it for the real players with there punk fake beating. Why post up games that may not be played? Time to grow up boys or is this just a west coast thing.I spoke to Tony earlier this morning, like 2 a.m. -- LOL -- and he said the game was off. Santos couldn't raise the 5 dimes as of 2 a.m. this morning.
Maybe things have changed since then, but that's my story, and I'm sticking with it! :grin-square:
I mentioned this on page 1 of this thread earlier today, but maybe Santos has since that time come up with the cheese.
WTF -- sounds to me that most of you are making this guy (DRUG DEALER) a hero of some sort.
Growing Government Pot
Inside a small darkroom, a set of grow lights are focused on a pair of fully mature marijuana plants, boasting flowering buds and standing well over the head of Dr. Mahmoud ElSohly, director of the university's pot-growing operations. The doctor gently rubs one of the buds and smells his fingers.
"The smell is very strong," says the mild-mannered director in a heavy Egyptian accent. (In fact, with the large amount of marijuana stored onsite, the entire Waller Complex has the skunk-like smell of a stoner's basement.)
There are drug stores everywhere. The president, an admitted marijuana and cocaine user, now oversees a huge pot operation growing and distributing marijuana at a cost of millions of dollars of your money. If marijuana is illegal, the president needs to be locked up.
